From The Adventures of Squirrell blog: Roxy's gone. She's really gone. Yesterday she still wasn't feeling well at all so I took her to our conventional vet. Her bloodwork was pretty off so they referred us to a vet hospital in Aurora.
Rox and I started the drive up there and I really thought that they would just keep her overnight or so. As I pulled in the parked the car, I turned turned around to tell her that we were at the hospital and they were going to take good care of her. Then she collapsed to the side. I grabbed her and we hurried inside.
The staff took her immediately and started to work on her. I was told that she was in respiratory arrest. After they intibated her, she inhaled vomit and went into full cardiac arrest. They began CPR and a vet came into the room to talk with me. I asked her opinion of Roxy's chances to get well. She told me that a very, very small percetage of dogs can come back after what she experienced and her medical history would make it even more difficult.
I knew in my heart that it was time to let her go; give her a chance to finally rest. They brought her in to me and I was able to spend some time with her. I gave Billy a call at work and let him talk with her as well. My thoughtful parents started to drive up and meet me. Billy came home with dinner...and flowers. He's so sweet.
We've got a rough road ahead, but just like Little Miss Roxy, we'll keep on fighting. |

My Heart goes out to you all. Roxy knows you cared and loved her. I also had this happen to me with our Mindimotto sun, and it happened on Easter Sunday, 6 yrs. ago suddenly. It is a awful loss for any Pet Lover to go through. Always remember that God has a special place in heaven for our pets/lovedones and they will their waiting at the gate for us to be reunited. Please stay strong and always remember the good times. She was a beautiful little lady and a faithful companion, who brought much joy into your life. My heart felt condolences to you all. |
