| Rainbow Bridge

I adopted Heidi, a beautiful German shepherd from Best Friends on June 3, 2001. She never experienced water to walk in or grass to walk on. She had been chained to a truck for years before Best Friends found her.

When I found Heidi, I was just there to volunteer for 3 days as a birthday gift to myself. We fell in love with this dog immediately. The problem was we were not looking for another dog. Our other Heidi had passed away 3 years prior and I wasn't ready for another dog. I guess she picked us.

We took her everywhere. She loved everyone, especially the grandchildren. Even though she was so abused, she was as sweet as the day was long. We miss her terribly, even after 11/2 years since she passed over the Rainbow Bridge. I don't think I can ever replace her.

You can't replace Heidi,but if you get another animal,rescue is the way to go.Sorry to hear about your pet.God Bless!

Your Heidi is hanging around you all the time. She also knows what a tough time she had before you found her. You know she is a great soul and would want you to give your love to another "poor" individual that would appreciate it as much as Heidi does. In heaven they all get along and there is no jealousy. Look for the one that needs you now!
