It may. females can fight to the death, males fight until ranking is established. Any reason the dogs are not fixed yet?

Females also try to establish dominess too, get one spayed, or both for that matter,I have two boys that do that to, If I dont' give the one all my attention to one of them when I come n ,the same happens to me,The best thing for you to do is get them fixed.Sometimes they will do that ,i know mine do,One of mine does it i think because he doesn't get all the attention, and are they or one more attacted to you than the other?

I believe spaying is a good idea. My brother has two intact female Boston terriers and they do the same thing. Ive shown him articles about spaying, shown him how many unwanted Bostons get dumped on Petfinder etc. My bro is stubborn tho. Can I ask the ages of the mixed labs?

My two females are far more territorial than our males ever were- everybody spayed, neutered...it's just the way it is. The dominant female even urinates over where the other female went!! I see no difference in assertiveness or anything else in males vs. females- even when fixed. There has to be one leader...and between these females, the lead is even a stronger role.

I am afraid if two males get into a serious fight. Two females fighting can be truly frightening with serious damage. Especially in your case, if it's only during heat, is there a reason why you haven't gotten them spayed? It might help with the fighting and then there's adding animals when millions are killed for lack of homes and health benefits of no worries about ovarian cancer and such.
