Would like to discuss any behavior problems you might have with your Pyr.  My George is 1 yr. and 130 lbs.  At first life was wonderful when we brought him home at 11 wk. but then things changed and he goes into a red rage with one of our other dogs but only one.  So of course I have to keep them seperated at all times.  Toby is only 22 lbs. so yes he could easily kill him.  He also hates one cat out of two.  Seems to be selective.  Any thoughts on this?

Question for you...You said he only goes after one of the other dogs and recently you posted about another of your dogs having a potty problem. Did the Pyrs aggression coincide in any way with the "bad" behavior of the other dog? Is that the dog he goes after? Also have you had him neutered? He is, at 1 year, beginning his "terrible two" stage and puberty too. How does the dog he is attacking react before the aggression/after the aggression?

Yes George was fixed at 6 mo.  and this all started a couple of mo. after that.  Yes Toby is the one peeing in the house but he started that before George came home.  Toby is not fixed.  Toby is doing nothing, George just hates him.

First my boyfriend has his pyrenees, Kenya ( 4yr spayed female) who is alpha dog of the house.  We have issues with her picking fights a neighbor dog that ironically bullied her as a puppy...they just stay isolated from each other now.  She is protective of her food bowl, so we feed everyone twice a day in their crates (which helps because we foster starving stray dogs all the time).  She is also very shy around strangers.  Kenya isn't a mean dog, but she has an aloof personality.  I wish my boyfriend trained her as a puppy!

Then our current stray is a small pyrenees mix, WB.  He is super friendly, great with the dogs and cats.  Grt Pyr are know to be independent dogs, which means they sometimes come when called...training him will be a challenge!

I would call in an animal behavorist to analyze your home situation if it keeps excallating.  Set boundaries so the dogs know your boss/apha.  Routine exercise might improve tensions in the household as well.  -hope this helps
