As I sit here reliving the last few hours i am in shock.  Today started beautiful listening to one of my 5 parakeets singing.  Angelus, my first love and first kid who is usually silent, was the first one up and the first to sing all by his lonesome.  The other four just kept quiet while my beautiful little angel sang so lovely that it was captivating.  I walked up to the cage and said good morning, after uncovering them from their nights sleep. My angel came to the front of his cage and sat there and sang his little heart out, still while the others kept quiet.  I had to go get some food for them today and kissed my little angel before I left, upon coming back I looked in the cage and couldn't see my little angel anywhere.  I became frantic because I wanted to make sure he wasn't on the floor or anywhere that could hurt him.  Then I looked in the bottom of the cage, at first my mind could not grasp that he was there.  As I reached in to pick his little body up michiel landed on my arm rubbed his little head on my arm and got off onto the perch.  I'm here to tell you the instant heartache was intense and still is 3 hours later.  My love for my little parakeets is of a love for a child. and the love is always returned.  I will always love my first little Angel and will always remember his farewell song.

Hello, I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am about your little Angel!!!!
I REALLY, REALLY understand when you say that "My love for my little parakeets is of a love for a child"... having no living family except my 2 furbabies, I understand.. I don't care what kind of pet you have, LOVE IS LOVE IS LOVE!!!!!
How beautiful that Angel DID serenade you this morning, he was giving you his last love and a beautiful farewell.
I used to raise Parakeets, and I lost one that flew away, I was HEARTBROKEN... he came to my kitchen window a few hours later, and sang and let out the greatest whistle I'd ever heard and then was gone. I always have felt he came to say Thank you for the love, and good bye.
May happy memories and your other "babies" be of comfort to you now during your loss...
We sent hugs and support,
Jasmine, Gus and Spearit

I would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support.  Here it is the day after and the pain is still intense, as I uncovered the cage this morning I expected to angel as usual looking back at me,  but to no avail.  I still feel empty and miss him but the other four are trying  to change that.

I am sorry to read about your loss.I also had two parakeets for awile. They were such a nice addition to our family. One was a blue color and the other was yellow-green.I remember the day I found one lying on the bottom of the cage and the one remaining did not last much longer.I think she missed her best friend. My daughter named them "Hunny " and "Bunny".

My sympathy to you & your loss.I know the pain.
