My poor little boy Crosby crossed over the rainbow bridge on September 11, 6 p.m.  He was at the vet's office as an emergency 4 days before and we thought it was an obstruction.  She did emergency exploratory surgery and found nothing wrong, but he had been projectile vomiting and had urine seeping out.   He stayed for 2 days on IV fluids and I brought him home on a Wednesday evening and he died the following Thursday evening.  He hadn't eaten since the Sunday before and was just crawling around after the surgery.  I carried him down to the basement and he died immediately thereafter.  We did an autopsy and found he had a heart defect - one side was real thick and the other real thin.  I blame myself for carrying him down the basement and for having the surgery which showed nothing.  He was only 11 years old and was my "shadow".  We have 12 other cats but none was like him - I know he is at peace now, but I miss him terribly.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  We have to do the best we can, and you helped Crosby as much as humanly possible.  My cat is dying and is only 10 years old.   Sometimes their bodies just heal themselves.  We have to do the best we can, and you did what you could.  So sorry for you and Crosby.

I am very sorry for your loss. Please know that as you write this, a similar heart ache is revisted here as well. We think of you now as the pain is so new. We think of our losses too as they are never forgotten. We always wonder if we could have or should have done something different. Our beloved pets know that we tried, as well as how much they were loved. Aren't we blessed to have had them in our lives at all!

I feel you pain. I know your heart is with him and his with yours. Remember the great times you had with him, as I do for my Teddy who passed on August 6th 2008. It was hard, so very hard. But I have the pics and videos. It's not like the real thing, but I know we gave him a great home while he was here. We were both lucky to have each other.
