Community invited to 12th Annual Fun Dog Show, ‘Rescue Dogs Rock’ to benefit abused, abandoned animals, Sunday Sept. 28 Hilarious celebrity impersonator brings Joan Rivers’ comedy to the red carpet MARGATE – When the leaves turn colors and a chill in the air signals the start of autumn, it’s time for Steve and Cookies’ By the Bay Annual Fun Dog Show. The Twelfth Annual Show themed, “Rescue Dogs Rock,” will be held Sunday, Sept. 28, starting at 1 p.m., outside the restaurant located at Monroe Ave. and the bay. The benefit will highlight the importance of adopting from rescues and/or shelters. Cookie Till, owner of Steve and Cookies’ by the Bay restaurant, is hosting the annual event and all proceeds will benefit New Jersey Aid for Animals. Kathy McGuire, president of NJAFA, said, “NJAFA couldn't be happier as this event has proven to be bigger and better every year. Cookie and her dedicated staff are amazing as they work miracles to make this show happen.” This year’s emcee for the popular benefit dog show will be celebrity impersonator Holly Fairis, whose hilariously renowned one-woman performances are always a crowd-pleasing good time. The Best Dressed category is a major highlight of the day’s event and a big hit,” says Till, “and we are so excited that we have Holly Fairis this year who will emcee the show ala ‘Joan Rivers.’“ All dogs registered by their owners that day will be welcome to strut down the red carpet on the parking lot of Steve and Cookies.” Find out about Fairis: http://www.hollyfaris.com/ Of course The Oyster Bar will also be open to well mannered dog owners for adult refreshments. There will be food and fun for all. Renowned Animal Communicator, Dr. Elizabeth Severino, will also be on hand to provide readings of animals using a photograph or the animal’s collar. Always a popular draw, Severino provides attendees with insight and understanding of their pets and their experiences. All costs are covered by NJAFA, which is why we need to hold fund-raisers like this one.” “Being the beneficiary of Cookie’s event enables us to continue to rescue animals like little Violet who was surrendered from a Camden resident because she was dying. She spent five days in hospital, costing us $1,500.” McGuire reports. “Her story has a happy ending.” Go to http://uncutvideo.aol.com/videos/2ad410c1e6ba1f9dd28a14897a209abc Little Violet’s likeness, as depicted by artist Jon Baker, will be featured this year on posters and t-shirts.
