| My favorite Nick Drake song along with Pink Moon Nick Drake)
Thoughts of rain at sunset
Clouds of rainbow blue
Thoughts of sun on sand-dunes
Where the seabirds flew
This was our season, and we said it couldn't end
But my love left with the rain.
Thoughts of leaves in autumn
Falling from the trees
Thoughts of hoaring tree tops
Leading to the sea
This was our season, no lies and no pretend
But my love left with the rain.
Thoughts of springtime rainfall
Touching flowers that bend
Thoughts of wind in willows
Days that never end
This was our season, but sorrow waited round the bend
For my love left with the rain.
Rain's the way you move now
Sun the way you seem
Leaves the way you wonder
Flowers the way you dream
This was our season, and we said it couldn't end
But my love left with the rain. Pink Moon I saw it written and I saw it say Pink moon is on its way
And none of you stand so tall
Pink moon gonna get you all
Its a pink moon
Its a pink, pink, pink, pink, pink moon KR | | | |

| Well, the Lone Ranger and Tonto
They are ridin' down the line
Fixin' ev'rybody's troubles
Ev'rybody's 'cept mine
Somebody musta tol' 'em
That I was doin' fine
Oh you five and ten cent women
With nothin' in your heads
I got a real gal I'm lovin'
And Lord I'll love her till I'm dead
Go away from my door and my window too
Right now
Lord, I ain't goin' down to no race track
See no sports car run
I don't have no sports car
And I don't even care to have one
I can walk anytime around the block
Well, the wind keeps a-blowin' me
Up and down the street
With my hat in my hand
And my boots on my feet
Watch out so you don't step on me
Well, lookit here buddy
You want to be like me
Pull out your six-shooter
And rob every bank you can see
Tell the judge I said it was all right
Yes! A favorite old Dylan song Greg | | | |

| Favorite lyrics One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small,
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all.
Go ask Alice
When she's ten feet tall.
And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall,
Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call.
Call Alice
When she was just small.
When the men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low.
Go ask Alice
I think she'll know.
When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead,
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
Remember what the dormouse said:
"Feed your head. Feed your head. Feed your head" and an old David Crosby song Triad I want to know how it will be
Me and her or you and me
You both stand there with your long hair flowing
Your eyes alive, your minds are still growing
Saying to me what can we do now that we
Both love you -- I love you too
I don't really see, why can't we go on as three
You are afraid, embarrased too, no one has ever
Said such a thing to you
Your mother's ghost stands at you shoulder
A face like ice a little bit colder
Saying to you
You can not do that it breaks alll the rules
You learned in school
I don't really see, why can't we go on as three
We love each other it's plain to see
There's just one answer comes to me
Sister lovers -- water brothers
And in time maybe others
So you see what we can do
If we try something new - if you're crazy too
I don't really see, why can't we go on as three Kelly | | | |

| Hi, everyone! Wow great input from so many, and new folks too! How fun? Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It was HOT in Dallas....thank goodness for swimming pools!
A friend turned me on to Lily Allen and I just adore her Brittish sense of humor:
Sometimes I find myself sittin' back and reminiscing Especially when I have to watch other people kissin' And I remember when you started callin' me your miss's All the play fightin', all the flirtatious disses I'd tell you sad stories about my childhood I don't why I trusted you but I knew that I could We'd spend the whole weekend lying in our own dirt I was just so happy in your boxers and your t-shirt
[Chorus] Dreams, Dreams Of when we had just started things Dreams of you and me It seems, It seems That I can't shake those memories I wonder if you have the same dreams too.
The littlest things that take me there I know it sounds lame but its so true I know its not right, but it seems unfair That the things are reminding me of you Sometimes I wish we could just pretend Even if for only one weekend So come on, Tell me Is this the end?
Drinkin' tea in bed Watching DVD's When I discovered all your dirty grotty magazines You take me out shopping and all we'd buy is trainers As if we ever needed anything to entertain us the first time that you introduced me to your friends and you could tell I was nervous, so you held my hand when I was feeling down, you made that face you do no one in the world who could replace you
[Chorus] Dreams, Dreams Of when we had just started things Dreams of me and you It seems, It seems That I can't shake those memories I wonder if you feel the same way too
The littlest things that take me there I know it sounds lame but its so true I know its not right, but it seems unfair That the things reminding me of you Sometimes I wish we could just pretend Even if for only one weekend So come on, Tell me Is this the end?
I have always loved this song:
She's got a way about her I don't know what it is But I know that I can't live without her She's got a way of pleasin' I don't know what it is But there doesn't have to be a reason anywhere She's got a smile that heals me I don't know why it is But I have to laugh when she reveals me She's got a way of talkin' I don't know why it is But it lifts me up when we are walkin' anywhere
She comes to me when I'm feelin' down Inspires me without a sound She touches me and I get turned around
She's got a way of showin' How I make her feel And I found the strength to keep on goin' She's got a light around her And everywhere she goes A million dreams of love surround her everywhere She's got a smile that heals me Oh I don't know why it is But I have to laugh when she reveals me anyway

| Hi Jennifer... Great songs..especially the second one. It has been pretty hot here as well (florida), a steady 95 degrees all day today, but what makes it worse is the humidity....its absolute torture!
JJ thanks for the kind words. Glad you liked the pasty cline song.
Greg, hope you had a wonderful b-day.
Ok back to poetry: Heres a great but somewhat sad poem: Annabelle Lee by Edgar Allan Poe
It was many and many a year ago, In a kingdom by the sea, That a maiden there lived whom you may know By the name of Annabel Lee; And this maiden she lived with no other thought Than to love and be loved by me.
I was a child and she was a child, In this kingdom by the sea; But we loved with a love that was more than love- I and my Annabel Lee; With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven Coveted her and me. And this was the reason that, long ago, In this kingdom by the sea, A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling My beautiful Annabel Lee; So that her highborn kinsman came And bore her away from me, To shut her up in a sepulcher In this kingdom by the sea. The angels, not half so happy in heaven, Went envying her and me Yes! that was the reason (as all men know, In this kingdom by the sea) That the wind came out of the cloud by night, Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.
But our love it was stronger by far than the love Of those who were older than we Of many far wiser than we And neither the angels in heaven above, Nor the demons down under the sea, Can ever dissever my soul from the soul Of the beautiful Annabel Lee. For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side Of my darling, my darling, my life and my bride, In the sepulcher there by the sea, In her tomb by the sounding sea.
Quote: “And when love speaks, the voice of all the gods Makes heaven drowsy with the harmony.”-shakespeare | | | |

| Very nice words you all, welcome back Jennifer. I ate too much and drank too much but it was a great weekend. Sometimes it is hard not to over do but now it is back to work for me. A Journey classic, Lying beside you
here in the dark
Feeling your heart beat with mine
Softly you whisper
you're so sincere
How could our love be so blind
We sailed on together
We drifted a part
And here you are by my side
So now I come to you
with open arms
Nothing to hide
believe what I say
So here I am with open arms
Hoping you'll see what your love means to me
Open arms
Living without you
living alone
This empty house seems so cold
Wanting to hold you
wanting you near
How much I want you home
But now that you've come back
Turned night in to day
I need you to stay
So now I come to you
with open arms
Nothing to hide
believe what I say
So here I am with open arms
Hoping you'll see what your love means to me
Open arms and one by Three Days Grace I can't escape this hell
So many times i've tried
But i'm still caged inside
Somebody get me through this nightmare
I can't control myself
So what if you can see the darkest side of me?
No one will ever change this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal
(This animal, this animal)
I can't escape myself
(I can't escape myself)
So many times i've lied
(So many times i've lied)
But there's still rage inside
Somebody get me through this nightmare
I can't control myself
So what if you can see the darkest side of me?
No one will ever change this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal
Somebody help me through this nightmare
I can't control myself
Somebody wake me from this nightmare
I can't escape this hell
(This animal, this animal, this animal, this animal, this animal, this animal, this animal)
So what if you can see the darkest side of me?
No one will ever change this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal
(This animal I have become) Now it is time to get out for a five mile run before it gets too warm. I need to clear my mind and body and prepare for a long week. Thanks again for your help this weekend Kelly, you are always there when needed. Greg | | | |

| You are most welcome Greg. Jennifer and Lala I look forward to talking to both of you soon. I love your songs and such. Here is an old Dylan song I cannot get out of my head. I laid on a dune, I looked at the sky,
When the children were babies and played on the beach.
You came up behind me, I saw you go by,
You were always so close and still within reach.
Sara, Sara,
Whatever made you want to change your mind?
Sara, Sara,
So easy to look at, so hard to define.
I can still see them playin' with their pails in the sand,
They run to the water their buckets to fill.
I can still see the shells fallin' out of their hands
As they follow each other back up the hill.
Sara, Sara,
Sweet virgin angel, sweet love of my life,
Sara, Sara,
Radiant jewel, mystical wife.
Sleepin' in the woods by a fire in the night,
Drinkin' white rum in a Portugal bar,
Them playin' leapfrog and hearin' about Snow White,
You in the marketplace in Savanna-la-Mar.
Sara, Sara,
It's all so clear, I could never forget,
Sara, Sara,
Lovin' you is the one thing I'll never regret.
I can still hear the sounds of those Methodist bells,
I'd taken the cure and had just gotten through,
Stayin' up for days in the Chelsea Hotel,
Writin' "Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands" for you.
Sara, Sara,
Wherever we travel we're never apart.
Sara, oh Sara,
Beautiful lady, so dear to my heart.
How did I meet you? I don't know.
A messenger sent me in a tropical storm.
You were there in the winter, moonlight on the snow
And on Lily Pond Lane when the weather was warm.
Sara, oh Sara,
Scorpio Sphinx in a calico dress,
Sara, Sara,
You must forgive me my unworthiness.
Now the beach is deserted except for some kelp
And a piece of an old ship that lies on the shore.
You always responded when I needed your help,
You gimme a map and a key to your door.
Sara, oh Sara,
Glamorous nymph with an arrow and bow,
Sara, oh Sara,
Don't ever leave me, don't ever go. Kelly | | | |

| Very nice song Kelly, my favorite part has always been: Sara, Sara,
Wherever we travel we're never apart.
Sara, oh Sara,
Beautiful lady, so dear to my heart. I have seen Dylan in concert three times and his list of work is immense. I love this one. In the time of my confession, in the hour of my deepest need
When the pool of tears beneath my feet flood every newborn seed
There's a dyin' voice within me reaching out somewhere,
Toiling in the danger and in the morals of despair.
Don't have the inclination to look back on any mistake,
Like Cain, I now behold this chain of events that I must break.
In the fury of the moment I can see the Master's hand
In every leaf that trembles, in every grain of sand.
Oh, the flowers of indulgence and the weeds of yesteryear,
Like criminals, they have choked the breath of conscience and good cheer.
The sun beat down upon the steps of time to light the way
To ease the pain of idleness and the memory of decay.
I gaze into the doorway of temptation's angry flame
And every time I pass that way I always hear my name.
Then onward in my journey I come to understand
That every hair is numbered like every grain of sand.
I have gone from rags to riches in the sorrow of the night
In the violence of a summer's dream, in the chill of a wintry light,
In the bitter dance of loneliness fading into space,
In the broken mirror of innocence on each forgotten face.
I hear the ancient footsteps like the motion of the sea
Sometimes I turn, there's someone there, other times it's only me.
I am hanging in the balance of the reality of man
Like every sparrow falling, like every grain of sand. Greg | | | |

| Greg, I'm thrilled that you had such a nice birthday weekend with family and friends. Sounds like it was loads of fun.
Kelly, I couldn't be happier that you've joined us. I understand that you are not only a very lovely person but well read too. I'm eager to see your input to the forum.
Lala, again and again you continue to impress me with your choices!
Thoughts for the day, and they aren't by Jack Handy! LOL
"You only get what you give"
"Love is a risk but it's worth taking"
"Courage is acting with fear, not without it"
"Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must have it in us or find it not"
A personal favorite: "There's a special place in hell for women who refuse to help each other" - Madeleine Albright
This is unknown but I've had it in my office for years. There's a first part to it but in the interest of staying brief I'm adding only the best part:
Life is about who you love and who you hurt It's about who you make happy or unhappy purposefully It's about keeping or betraying trust It's about friendship, used as a sanctity or a weapon It's about what you say and mean, maybe hurtful, maybe heartening About starting rumors and contributing to petty gossip It's about what judgments you pass and why And who your judgments are spread to It's about who you've ignored with full control and intention It's about jealousy, fear, ignorance and revenge. It's about carrying inner hate and love, letting it grow and spreading it But most of all, it's about using your life to touch or poison other people's hearts in such a way that could have never occurred alone Only you choose the way those hearts are affected, and those choices are what life's all about
Cheers! Jennifer | | | |

Dance with me.
We'll invent a Finnish tango
and wow all the cool people
at the Copacabana, or
slide a lunar waltz under disco starlight with every
eye watching you.
A sexual Pasa Doblé
in peak hour Times Square traffic
showing New York commuters what
quick step really means as
they funeral march home.
Let's cut a jive in five
eight time to Garth Brooks on
some freaky western drug trip and
hear the applause as
you sashay a foxtrot on
their mundane front lawns.
Take my lead and
we can turn the entire bloody
world
into our dance floor.

| I love this song
Lady In Red--Chris De Burgh
I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight I've never seen you shine so bright I've never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance They're looking for a little romance, given half a chance I have never seen that dress you're wearing Or the highlights in your head that catch your eyes I have been blind The lady in red is dancing with me cheek to cheek There's nobody here, it's just you and me, It's where I wanna be But I hardly know this beauty by my side I'll never for get, the way you look tonight
I've never seen you looking so gorgeous as you did tonight I've never seen you shine so bright you were amazing I've never seen so many people want to be there by your side And when you turned to me and smiled, It took my breath away I have never had such a feeling Such a feeling of complete and utter love, as I do tonight
The way you look tonight I never will forget, the way you look tonight The lady in red The lady in red The lady in red My lady in red (I love you.)
---- Standing in the half light, wondering if you can There stands the priest of sinners, consolation in his hands Though he prays he won't need it, he keeps it by his side Waiting for the face up and the answer in her eyes All while the music's playing a backdrop serenade There's only one point of view To be doing the things, things that lovers should do
Disco-queens in dancestep, moving face to face All tangled up in neon don't think it's some disgrace The blue western denim, the East Coats razor edge The European fashion, the leathers and re-threads All while the music's playing a backdrop serenade There's only one point of view To be doing the things, things that lovers should do

| Lala I have a feeling you look remarkable in red, the dark hair, those eyes, mmm. she wore red shoes by the newstand
as the rain splashed the nickle
spilled like chablis along the midway
theres a little bluejay
in a red dress, on a sad night
one straw in a rootbeer
a compact with a cracked mirror
and a bottle of evening in paris perfume
whats this sad tune
he told her to wait by the magazines
he had to take care of some business it seems
bring a raincoat
and a suitcase
and your dark eyes
and wear those red shoes
theres a dark huddle at the bus stop
unbrellas arranged in a sad bouquet
Li'l cesar got caught
he has going down to second
he has cooled
changing stations on the chamber
to steal a diamond
from a jewelry store for his baby
he loved the way she looked
in those red shoes
she waited by the drugstore
cesaer had never been late before
and the dogs bayed the moon
and rattled their chains
and the cold jingle of taps in a puddle
was the burgler alarm
snitchin on cesaer
note the rain washes memories from the sidewalks
and the hounds splash down the nickle
full of soldiers
and santa claus is drunk in the ski room
and it's christmas eve
in a sad cafe
when the moon gets this way
ther's a little blue my
by the newstand
wearing red shoes
so meet me tonight by the drugstore
w're goin' out tonight
wear your red shoes Red Shoes by Tom Waits and a few favorite lyrics by the same person And I wish I was in New Orleans, 'cause I can see it in my dreams,
Arm-in-arm down Burgundy, a bottle and my friends and me
New Orleans, I'll be there another And it's a battered old suitcase to a hotel someplace,
And a wound that will never heal
No prima donna, the perfume is on an
Old shirt that is stained with blood and whiskey
And goodnight to the street sweepers, the night watchmen flame keepers
And goodnight to Mathilda, too and now it's raining it's pouring
and hollywoods just fine
swindle a little out of her dreams
put a letter in the sign
never trust a scarecrow
wearin' shades after dark
be areful of that old bow tie he wears
it takes asweet little bullet
from a pretty blue gun
to put those scarlet ribbons in your hair
no that ain't no cherry bomb
4th of july's all done
just some fool playin' that a second line
from the barrel of a pretty blue gun maybe a couple quotes: “Some people without brains do an awful lot of talking. “That's the scary part. I didn't know if I should smile, crack up, scream or run.”“ 1) Are you a good witch or a bad witch? 2) Oh, i'm not a witch at all! I'm Dorothy, from Kansas. ”“Hearts will never be practical until they can be made unbreakable.” Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore. We must be over the rainbow. Greg | | | |

| Lala, Lady in Red. A great dancing song. Good choice!
Funny story - I actually went as Dorothy for Halloween in the 5th grade. My mom let me take our Lhasa Apso in a basket to school for a few hours!! Ah....memories.
I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned
Staring at the blank page before you Open up the dirty window Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance So close you can almost taste it Release your inhibitions Feel the rain on your skin No one else can feel it for you Only you can let it in No one else, no one else Can speak the words on your lips Drench yourself in words unspoken Live your life with arms wide open Today is where your book begins The rest is still unwritten
I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines We've been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can't live that way
Staring at the blank page before you Open up the dirty window Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance So close you can almost taste it Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin No one else can feel it for you Only you can let it in No one else, no one else Can speak the words on your lips Drench yourself in words unspoken Live your life with arms wide open Today is where your book begins The rest is still unwritten The rest is still unwritten The rest is still unwritten
'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life Trying to make ends meet You're a slave to money then you die I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down You know the one that takes you to the places where all the veins meet yeah
No change, I can't change I can't change, I can't change But I'm here in my mind I am here in my mind But I'm a million different people from one day to the next I can't change my mind No
Well I never pray But tonight I'm on my knees yeah I need to hear some sounds that recognize the pain in me, yeah I let the melody shine, let it cleanse my mind, I feel free now But the airways are clean and there's nobody singing to me now
No change, I can't change I can't change, I can't change But I'm here in my mind I am here in my mind And I'm a million different people from one day to the next I can't change my mind No, no, no, no, no, no, no I can't change I can't change it
'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life Trying to make ends meet Trying to find some money then you die I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down You know the one that takes you to the places where all the veins meet yeah
You know I can't change, I can't change I can't change, I can't change But I'm here in my mind I am here in my mind And I'm a million different people from one day to the next I can't change my mind No, no, no, no, no
I can't change my mind no, no, no, no, no, I can't change Can't change my body, no, no, no
I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down Been down Ever been down Ever been down Ever been down Ever been down That you've ever been down That you've ever been down

| He wasn't famous but I sure did love him
I've got his picture in a little frame
He lost his life to a big disease before it even had a name
But there's so many more and I've lost count
The hows and whys aren't important now
All that matters is they came around
And brightened up our lives
She was twenty one with her life ahead
You don't need to know her name
She breathed her last on the cold stone floor of a Hollywood arcade
But fate's right hand isn't always just
Puts a lot of pressure on your faith and trust
She was just a little girl ain't that enough
To rage against the day
[chorus:]
And how did we get so lucky?
Targets on the rifle range
Who makes the call and who gets to choose?
Who gets to win and who gets to lose?
It's like a rolling dice in the belly of the blues
And blues never fade away
Hey hey the colors run when the rain falls
But blues never fade away
He shone so bright with a lust for life
Like the Sun King that he was
His passions hung upon his walls and were printed onto cloth
And for reasons I never understood
About the choices made between the bad and good
I've tried to figure out but
The pain never goes away
[repeat chorus]
And there's marble markers and little white crosses
Along the beaten path
And I've spread their ashes on the wind
And I miss John Lennon's laugh an Elton John song JJ | | | |

| Two really great songs Into The Night lyrics (feat. Chad Kroeger)
Like a gift from the heavens
It was easy to tell
It was love from above that could save me from hell
She had fire in her soul
It was easy to see
How the devil himself could be pulled out of me
There were drums in the air as she started to dance
Every soul in the room keeping time with their hands and we sang
A-yo-a-yo-a-yo-a
And the voices rang like the angles sang, singing
A-yo-a-yo-a-yo-a
And we danced on into the night
Like a piece to the puzzle that falls into place
You could tell how we felt from the look on our faces
We were spinning in circles with the moon in our eyes
No room left to move in between you and I
We forgot where we were and we lost track of time
And we sang to the wind as we danced through the night
A-yo-a-yo-a-yo-a
And the voices rang like the angels sang, singing
A-yo-a-yo-a-yo-a
And we danced on into the night
Like a gift from the heavens
It was easy to tell
It was love from above that could save me from hell
She had fire in her soul
It was easy to see
How the devil himself could be pulled out of me
There were drums in the air as she started to dance
Every soul in the room keeping time with their hands and we sang
A-yo-a-yo-a-yo-a
And the voices rang like the angels sang, singing
A-yo-a-yo-a-yo-a
And we danced on into the night Hall & Oates--Maneater She'll only come out at night
The lean and hungry type
Nothing is new, I've seen her here before
Watching and waiting
She's sitting with you but her eyes are on the door
So many have paid to see
What you think you're getting for free
The woman is wild, a she-cat tamed by the purr of a Jaguar
Money's the matter
If you're in it for love you ain't gonna get too far
Oh here she comes
Watch out boy she'll chew you up
Oh here she comes
She's a maneater
Oh here she comes
Watch out boy she'll chew you up
Oh here she comes
She's a maneater
I wouldn't if I were you
I know what she can do
She's deadly man, and she could really rip your world apart
Mind over matter
The beauty is there but a beast is in the heart
Oh here she comes
Watch out boy she'll chew you up
Oh here she comes
She's a maneater | | | |

| Great songs Lala. The second song is especially fitting since I know you to be feisty and strong willed. I had a fabulous song I wanted to post, it came to me in a dream last night. I heard every word, every note of music, and then I woke up. I have no idea what the song was now, or the artist ,so I will post one I like: Cold was the night, hard was the ground
They found her in a small grove of trees
Lonesome was the place where Georgia was found
She's too young to be out
On the street.
Why wasn't God watching?
Why wasn't God listening?
Why wasn't God there for
Georgia Lee?
Ida said she couldn't keep Georgia
From dropping out of school
I was doing the best that I could
But she kept runnin away from this world
These children are so hard to raise good
Why wasn't God watching?
Why wasn't God listening?
Why wasn't God there for
Georgia Lee?
Close your eyes and count to ten
I will got and hid but then
Be sure to find me. I want you to find me
And we'll play all over
We will play all over again
There's a toad in the witch grass
There's a crow in the corn
Wild flowers on a cross by the road
And somewhere a baby is crying
For her mom
As the hills turn from green back
To gold
Why wasn't God watching?
Why wasn't God listening?
Why wasn't God there for
Georgia Lee? Georgia Lee by Tom Waits I especially love the line Be sure to find me, I want you to find me I am sure at one time or another all of us have known people who reach out and need someone there for them. That reaching out can take many forms, some of them are pretty bad. It has always been my hope that there is someone who will listen, who will find them. We all need that. Overwork does this to me, I will cheer up eventually. Greg | | | |

| Greg that is a very touching song thanks for sharing. I will see you and Kelly tonight at the sci fi meeting. I hope to finish the book today. Head under water
And they tell me to breathe easy for a while
Breathing gets harder, even I know that
Made room for me, it's too soon to see
If I'm happy in your hands
I'm unusually hard to hold on to
Blank stares at blank pages
No easy way to say this
You mean well, but you make this hard on me
I'm not gonna write you a love song
'Cause you asked for it
'Cause you need one, you see
I'm not gonna write you a love song
'Cause you tell me it's
Make or break in this
If you're on your way
I'm not gonna write you to stay
If all you have is leaving I'm gonna need a better
Reason to write you a love song today
I learned the hard way
That they all say things you want to hear
My heavy heart sinks deep down under
And you and your twisted words,
Your help just hurts
You are not what I thought you were
Hello to high and dry
Convinced me to please you
Made me think that I need this too
I'm trying to let you hear me as I am
I'm not gonna write you a love song
'Cause you asked for it
'Cause you need one, you see
I'm not gonna write you a love song
'Cause you tell me it's
Make or break in this
If you're on your way
I'm not gonna write you to stay
If all you have is leaving I'm gonna need a better
Reason to write you a love song today
Promise me that you'll leave the light on
To help me see with daylight, my guide, gone
'Cause I believe there's a way you can love me
Because I say
I won't write you a love song
'Cause you asked for it
'Cause you need one, you see
I'm not gonna write you a love song
'Cause you tell me it's make or break in this
Is that why you wanted a love song
'Cause you asked for it
'Cause you need one, you see
I'm not gonna write you a love song
'Cause you tell me it's make or break in this
If you're on your way
I'm not gonna write you to stay
If your heart is nowhere in it
I don't want it for a minute
Babe, I'll walk the seven seas
When I believe that there's a reason to
Write you a love song today Sara Bareilles

| Automobile ©John Prine February morning, my car won't start today
I turned the key at 8:03 and the battery passed away
Inside a' my automobile
I want my automobile
I want my automobile
I want to drive it all around this world Bride's gettin' married in the Springtime
Widow's gettin married in the Fall
I got married in high school
Or I wouldn't of got married at all
I'd be drivin' my automobile
Be drivin' my automobile
Be drivin' my automobile
I wanna drive it all around this world Everybody said to the new groom
Groom, what ya gonna be
I said I'm gonna be a symphony
Just as soon as I find a key
To my automobile
I want my automobile
I want my automobile
All around this world Spoken:
Let's take a ride Columbus sailed the ocean
Moses parted the sea
Dolores left me yesterday
Well, I think she took the key
To my automobile
I want my automobile
I want my automobile
Wanna drive it all around this world Now I held a little bitty baby
I held a woman all night
Whenever I get the hiccups
I hold my breath 'til my head gets light
Then I drive my automobile
Yeah I drive my automobile
I drive my automobile
I'm want to drive it all around this world February morning, my car won't start today
Yeah, I turned the key at 8:03
And the battery passed away
Inside a' my automobile
I'm drivin' my automobile
Wanna my automobile
Wanna drive it all around this world
Go on. Spoken:
It is a beautiful day for a ride
Hey, get your head down I can't see anything
Someone give me a cigarette
I don't want to take my hands off the wheel
We ought to take the air filter off this sucker.
So we can see what it will really do.
Uh oh, it looks to me like a HOS-PITAL Zone
Everybody get quiet. Shhhhhhhh.
Don't wake the dead up.
We're almost out. Hang on. Uh Oh here we go.
Well, you can just hold it until we get to the next town. This song is in keeping with the current discussion on gasoline prices. another Prine song... Dear Abby ©John Prine Dear Abby, Dear Abby ...
My feet are too long
My hair's falling out and my rights are all wrong
My friends they all tell me that I've no friends at all
Won't you write me a letter, Won't you give me a call
Signed Bewildered Bewildered, Bewildered... Chorus:
You have no complaint
You are what your are and you ain't what you ain't
So listen up Buster, and listen up good
Stop wishing for bad luck and knocking on wood Dear Abby, Dear Abby...
My fountain pen leaks
My wife hollers at me and my kids are all freaks
Every side I get up on is the wrong side of bed
If it weren't so expensive I'd wish I were dead
Signed Unhappy Unhappy, Unhappy... Repeat Chorus Dear Abby, Dear Abby...
You won't believe this
But my stomach makes noises whenever I kiss
My girlfriend tells me It's all in my head
But my stomach tells me to write you instead
Signed Noise-maker Noise-maker, Noise-maker Repeat Chorus Dear Abby, Dear Abby...
Well I never thought
That me and my girlfriend would ever get caught
We were sitting in the back seat just shooting the breeze
With her hair up in curlers and her pants to her knees
Signed Just Married Just Married, Just Married... Repeat Chorus Greg

| Some call the Carmina Burana by Carl Orff the greatest musical work of art of the 20th Century. Acutally, you know the music from the intro "O Fortuna" as it is regularly used in movie trailers to create suspense. The poetry is beautiful and dates back to 1230 AD. It's satirical celebrating springtime, love, gambiling and drinking. It's pretty amazing if you have a chance to hear it in it's entirity. For now, some of the poetry.
1. O Fortuna: O Fortune like the moon you are changeable ever waxing and waning hateful life first oppresess and then soothes as fancy takes it poverty and power it melts them like ice
Fate - monstrous and empty you whirling wheel you are malevolent well-being is vain and always fades to nothing shadowed and veiled you plague me too now through the game I bring my bare back to your villainy
Fate is against me in health and virtue driven on and weighted down always enslaved So at this hour without delay pluck the vibrating strings since Fate strikes down the string man everyone weep with me!
4. Omnia sol temperat The sun warms everything pure and gentle once again it reveals to the world April's face the soul of man is urged towards love and joys are governed by the boy-god
All this rebirth in spring's festivity and spring's power bids us to rejoice it shows us paths we know well and in your springtime it is true and light to keep what is yours
Love me faithfully! See how I am faithful with all my heart and with all my soul I am with you even when I am far away Whosoever loves this much turns on the wheel.
16. Dies, nox et omnia Day, night and everything is against me the chattering of maidens makes me weep and often sigh and, most of all, scares me
O friends, you are making fun of me you do not know what you are saying spare me, sorrowful as I am advise me at least by your honour
Your beautiful face makes me weep a thousand times your heart is of ice As a cure I would be revived by a kiss
