| Hey Juke, good to see you again. A while back he and I were talking landscaping and I offered to give him some advice on his house. The offer still stands if you give me some idea of the layout. Anyway welcome. Back to work for me.

This is sooo funny...
Things could always be worse; for instance, you could be ugly and work in the Post Office.
Adrienne E. Gusoff
US teacher, humorist and greeting card writer I just now had time to read some of the recent posts, Ivet this is too funny! It reminds me of a quote about "Things could be worse, you could be in Cleveland". For some reason I am also reminded about something a woman from Florida once told me, she said we have a lot of flea markets here, a lot of junk, because this is where people come to die. I think I heard a similar thing on Dexter because it is based there. Jen, Kelly, and Julie you are certainly raising some interesting topics. You ladies are as brilliant as you are lovely, it is a rare combination. I am not sure I can contribute much since I have been working a lot lately and right now my mind is mush. I couple probably handle watching some sports or Utube and just vegging out for a bit. The Olympics starts soon and I look forward to that. China is working hard to put on a good face but I believe I read today that anyone who wished to protest needs to give five days notice lol. That kind of takes out the spontaneity and it is a little scary that you need to register for such things. The USA mens NBA team was on earlier. There was a time when we could compete with college basketball players but we have not won with an all amateur team since 1984. We lost with the college team in 88 and 92 started the dream team I believe. I could be wrong on this but I think Bob Knight was the last to win the Olympics with amateurs, the man could coach. He was still at Indiana as I finished my schooling there. It is doubtful it will ever happen again.(winning the Olympics with college ball players.) The world has caught up with us, and so it goes. I best stop before I get into the global economy and how we are lagging there also. JJ thanks again for your help this weekend, you are remarkable. Greg

| Here's a Chuck Berry song:
There was Adam, happy as a man could be Till Eve got him messin' with that old apple tree
Ain't that just like a woman? Ain't that just like a woman? Ain't that just like a woman? They'll do it every time
Lot took his wife down to the corner for a malted She wouldn't mind her business, boy, did she get salted
Ain't that just like a woman? Ain't that just like a woman? Ain't that just like a woman? They'll do it every time Samson thought Delilah was on the square Till one night she clipped him all his hair
Ain't that just like a woman? Ain't that just like a woman? Ain't that just like a woman? They'll do it every time
From our history books we all learned Nero fiddled while Rome was burned
Ain't that just like a woman? Ain't that just like a woman? Ain't that just like a woman? They'll do it every time
Marie Antoinette met some hungry cats at the gate They was crying for bread, she said, "Let them eat cake"
Ain't that just like a woman? Ain't that just like a woman? Ain't that just like a woman? They'll do it every time
You can buy a woman clothes And give her money on the side No matter what you do She ain't never satisfied Ain't that just like a woman? Ain't that just like a woman? Ain't that just like a woman? They'll do it every time

| LMAO! Ivet that is a very cute song, thanks for sharing. Some quotes: In jealousy there is more self-love than love. ~François, Duc de La Rochefoucauld, Love looks through a telescope; envy, through a microscope. ~Josh Billings I am sure many women have experienced envy. Sometimes it is because of youth or appearance or knowlege. It eats at people in all walks of life. Maybe men are giving attention to only some women in the workplace. I bet you have experienced that some Ivet. (I hope you do not mind me being told about that.) It happens with men too but I bet to a lesser degree. The same holds true for Jen and JJ, I work more in the private sector so I would never see it as much. Kelly | | | |

| Kelly, Yes Jealousy crushes people and plays with their lives. There is nothing worse than it. I have been through hell and back at my workplace because of it. I think being a man is much easier! ( sorry Greg). And no, i don't mind you knowing about these things at all. | | | |

| Welcome Labcab, (she mentioned to me in an email that she is artsy and her husband composes music) you will fit right in. I am a bit artistic but nothing on the level of JJ (JokerandJJ) and I do sing but more glee club level, Jennifer (Daisysmile73) is the gifted singer in this group. Most of us in this post have a deep love of music, literature and art. Kelly KR1982 and Ivet Love_MY_Pets are probably the most literate of the group, both have degrees in English and then you have Jennifer once again with a degree in journalism. You will find this to be a popular post I believe and the credit is JJ's of course, she tends to keep us in line and slaps some sense into me on occasion but in a nice way. We all love animals of course. I own a dog and a half (half Kellys), I think she owns the end that eats. I also have a very large cat Incubus who is instant buddies with anyone who enters my bookstore. Please ask your husband to join in if he wishes, we have had original poetry here but rarely have seen original lyrics. Now back to the topic at hand. Ivet being a man is much easier, for one thing, we do not go to the depth that women do to stay young and beautiful looking. We shave now and then, um, comb our hair, floss etc but we are the more visual of the species and maybe that is why we appreciate lovely women whereas a woman might find all sorts of men attractive and we do little to achieve that effect. I am not so sure men are harrassed much in the workplace or have other men jealous of them because of their looks. I have a cousin who is a model (female) and every woman in her office hates her, all the men adore her and of course she is constantly getting raises and promotions. Is it fair, if she is not qualified? Of course not but some do get by on looks and if you have those and brains, as several of the women in this forum do, maybe the brains are not considered as much in the equation. This makes sense to me but then I have had about six hours sleep in three days. I generally made it a habit not to get involved with employees or clients but Ivet might make me throw that rule out the window if she worked for me. Ok back to Labcab, please tell us in what way you are artsy. I paint and am currently attempting sculpture but JJ will get the lions share of the credit for the finished piece. Greg | | | |

| HI LabCab!!! Thanks for stopping in you are most welcome. Your husband is welcome also and we look forward to learning about the both of you. I have learned so much in talking to people like Greg and Ivet and Jen in here. Greg was being modest, he is probably one of the brighter people you will find in this or any forum. He is truly a renaissance man, and a handsome one . I think he left out Julie who is a nurse and really knows both music and literature. I do not mean to leave anyone out and I am sure you will meet lots of great people here. Another Lou Reed song...
You can't depend on your family
you can't depend on your friends
You can't depend on a beginning
you can't depend on an end
You can't depend on intelligence
ooohhh, you can't depend on God
You can only depend on one thing
you need a busload of faith to get by, watch, baby
Busload of faith to get by
busload of faith to get by
Busload of faith to get by
you need a busload of faith to get by
You can depend on the worst always happening
you can depend on a murderer's drive
You can bet that if he rapes somebody
there'll be no trouble having a child
You can bet that if she aborts it
pro-lifers will attack her with rage
You can depend on the worst always happening
you need a busload of faith to get by, yeah
Busload of faith to get by
busload of faith to get by
Busload of faith to get by, baby
busload of faith to get by
You can't depend on the goodly hearted
the goodly hearted made lamp-shades and soap
You can't depend on the Sacrament
no Father, no Holy Ghost
You can't depend on any churches
unless there's real estate you want to buy
You can't depend on a lot of things
you need a busload of faith to get by, woh
Busload of faith to get by
busload of faith to get by
Busload of faith to get by
busload of faith to get by
You can't depend on no miracle
you can't depend on the air
You can't depend on a wise man
you can't find 'em because they're not there
You can depend on cruelty
crudity of thought and sound
You can depend on the worst always happening
you need a busload of faith to get by, ha

| Hi, LabCab and welcome!! We all look forward to getting to know you.
Greg, you are always so generous with your words, and you haven't heard me sing yet! LOL I may have to get out some old jury pieces and dust them off in preparation for a future recital!!
If malice or envy were tangible and had a shape, it would be the shape of a boomerang. ~Charley Reese
This is something that caught my attention sometime ago and has stuck with me. I don't recommend the commencing of envy but rather the understanding that all of us are simply trying to make it through this life the best way we know:
Jealousy is simply and clearly the fear that you do not have value. Jealousy scans for evidence to prove the point - that others will be preferred and rewarded more than you. There is only one alternative - self-value. If you cannot love yourself, you will not believe that you are loved. You will always think it's a mistake or luck. Take your eyes off others and turn the scanner within. Find the seeds of your jealousy, clear the old voices and experiences. Put all the energy into building your personal and emotional security. Then you will be the one others envy, and you can remember the pain and reach out to them. ~Jennifer James
On another note, I've always loved this and was thinking about it today:
I need so much the quiet of your love After the day's loud strife; I need your calm all other things above After the stress of life.
I crave the haven that in your dear heart lies, After all toil is done; I need the starshine of your heavenly eyes, After the day's great sun. --Towne

| Hey Labcab, it's nice to see you join us. We do try to have open discussions here and welcome anyone who is friendly and likes people and animals. Greg is so cute when he is tired, he starts talking and sort of makes sense lol. The other night I heard some noise in our building and he was out in the shop working away and singing as he did so. This was about four a.m. and I was treated to a lecture about the immigration of the Irish into America and the social repercussions that insued. Then he went back to singing Irish songs of rebellion, that voice mmmm. The statue is coming along nicely and I think those who modeled will be pleasantly surprised with the outcome. I can all ready see much of Jen and Diane in it. an old irish song: The water is wide, I cannot get oer Neither have I wings to fly Give me a boat that can carry two And both shall row, my love and I
A ship there is and she sails the sea She's loaded deep as deep can be But not so deep as the love I'm in I know not if I sink or swim
I leaned my back against an oak Thinking it was a trusty tree But first it bent and then it broke So did my love prove false to me

| Wow there are always so many new people joining in with this post, it is so cool. It is amazing just how many check out the posts and join in. Hi Labcab you are most welcome. A Prince song I always loved to dance to. Yeah
I was working part time in a five-and-dime
My boss was mr. mcgee
He told me several times that he didnt like my kind
cause I was a bit 2 leisurely
Seems that I was busy doing something close 2 nothing
But different than the day before
Thats when I saw her, ooh, I saw her
She walked in through the out door, out door
She wore a
Raspberry beret
The kind u find in a second hand store
Raspberry beret
And if it was warm she wouldnt wear much more
Raspberry beret
I think I love her
Built like she was
She had the nerve 2 ask me
If I planned 2 do her any harm
So, look here
I put her on the back of my bike
And-a we went riding
Down by old man johnsons farm
I said now, overcast days never turned me on
But something about the clouds and her mixed
She wasnt 2 bright
But I could tell when she kissed me
She knew how 2 get her kicks
She wore a
Raspberry beret
The kind u find in a second hand store
Raspberry beret
And if it was warm she wouldnt wear much more
Raspberry beret
I think I love her
The rain sounds so cool when it hits the barn roof
And the horses wonder who u are
Thunder drowns out what the lightning sees
U feel like a movie star
Listen
They say the first time aint the greatest
But I tell ya
If I had the chance 2 do it all again
I wouldnt change a stroke
cause baby Im the most
With a girl as fine as she was then
(raspberry beret)
The kind u find (the kind u find)
The kind u find (in a second hand store)
Oh no no
(raspberry beret)
(and if it was warm)
Where have all the raspberry women gone? (she wouldnt wear much more)
Yeah (raspberry beret)
I think i... I think i... I think I love her
(raspberry beret)
No no no
No no no (the kind u find)
(in a second hand store)
(raspberry beret)
Tell me
Where have all the raspberry women gone? (and if it was warm she)
(wouldnt wear much more)
(raspberry beret)
I think I love... Julie | | | |

| Julie, I love that song, you and I will have to dance to it one day. I need to get a couple lovely young women out to dinner so I can talk about work and dreams but before I go, one Zevon song....
Big gorilla at the L.A. Zoo
Snatched the glasses right off my face
Took the keys to my BMW
Left me here to take his place
I wish the ape a lot of success
I'm sorry my apartment's a mess
Most of all I'm sorry if I made you blue
I'm betting the gorilla will, too
They say Jesus will find you wherever you go
But when He'll come looking for you, they don't know
In the mean time, keep your profile low
Gorilla, you're a desperado
He built a house on an acre of land
He called it Villa Gorilla Now
I hear he's getting divorced
Laying low at L'Ermitage, of course
Then the ape grew very depressed
Went through Transactional Analysis
He plays racquetball and runs in the rain
Still he's shackled to a platinum chain
Big gorilla at the L.A. Zoo
Snatched the glasses right off my face
Took the keys to my BMW
Left me here to take his place. Tonight it shall be Mexican food and the margaritas will flow like water. We will have to drink one to Warren Z. and his also dead friend, HST.

| Thanks to everyone for the very warm welcome I have an overwhelming passion for art. I love to draw and see it as an opporitunity to express myself. Words cannot express the feeling I have when I just sit and draw.My mom told me that when I was younger I just loved to draw, so I guess it's somthing that has always been a passion of mine. I also began playing the piano at the age of 4 so music is also somthing I enjoy. I just recently composed my own song called "My hearts love song." My inspiration came from when my husband proposed to me on one of our favorite mountains we like to hike. I wrote it in dedication to him. He is the most amazing husband and father. I had never been one to just sit at the piano and compose a song, but this one just came out and I had done it in just 15 minutes. I enjoy all types of music, except country. Country music to me is just too hill billy and depressing. My friends laugh at me when I say that because I came from Dallas TX. I always tell them that just becuase I came from the country does not mean I have to like country music. Jazz music is my favorite. It's mellow yet sometimes upbeat and fun, and also very soothing. That is why I named my Lab puppy "Jazz". He reminds me of jazz music. He is so mellow at times but then gets a second wind and gets all excited. So there it is in a nutshell. I will leave ya'll with the lyrics to one of my favorite songs.
By Your Side lyrics: you think i'd leave your side baby you know me better than that you think i'd leave you down when you're down on your knees i wouldn't do that i'll tell you you're right when you want and if only you could see into me ha ah ah ah ah ah
oh when you're cold i'll be there hold you tight to me
when you're on the outside baby and you can`t get in i will show you you're so much better than you know when you're lost and you're alone and you cant get back again i will find you darling and i will bring you home
and if you want to cry i am here to dry your eyes and in no time you'll be fine
you think i'd leave your side baby you know me better than that you think id leave you down when you're down on your knees i wouldn't do that i'll tell you you're right when you want and if only you could see into me ha ah ah ah ah ah
oh when you're cold i'll be there hold you tight to me when you're low i'll be there by your side baby
oh when you're cold i'll be there hold you tight to me oh when you're low i'll be there by your side baby

| Labcab, thank you so much for sharing and that is an excellent Sade song. My passion is art also but i spend more time teaching now than anything. I got my masters in art history not long ago but certainly enjoy expressing myself through art. I am currently helping Greg with a sculpture for one of his projects (he is a landscape architect but quite gifted in watercolor, oil, and charcoal.) I am more of an impressionist myself but have practiced many traditional art forms. I also have an interest in literature and got to know Kelly and Greg while in college as they hosted monthly bookclub meetings. The meetings often turn into parties after with Greg and Kelly entertaining most of us while we drink his wine and eat his food. I heard this song earlier tonight and always liked it. I do not have a fondness for country music either and we do talk rock, blues, and even folk here. Jazz is more to be enjoyed for what it is, like Impressionism. I met her in a club down in old soho
Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry-cola
Coca-cola]
C-o-l-a cola
She walked up to me and she asked me to dance
I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said lola
L-o-l-a lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Well Im not the worlds most physical guy
But when she squeezed me tight she nearly broke my spine
Oh my lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Well Im not dumb but I cant understand
Why she walked like a woman and talked like a man
Oh my lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Well we drank champagne and danced all night
Under electric candlelight
She picked me up and sat me on her knee
And said dear boy wont you come home with me
Well Im not the worlds most passionate guy
But when I looked in her eyes well I almost fell for my lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
I pushed her away
I walked to the door
I fell to the floor
I got down on my knees
Then I looked at her and she at me
Well thats the way that I want it to stay
And I always want it to be that way for my lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Girls will be boys and boys will be girls
Its a mixed up muddled up shook up world except for lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Well I left home just a week before
And Id never ever kissed a woman before
But lola smiled and took me by the hand
And said dear boy Im gonna make you a man
Well Im not the worlds most masculine man
But I know what I am and Im glad Im a man
And so is lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola
Lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola lo-lo-lo-lo lola and the song Greg says I remind him of since my name is Jane,
Standing on the corner,
Suitcase in my hand
Jack is in his corset, and jane is her vest,
And me Im in a rocknroll band hah!
Ridin in a stutz bear cat, jim
You know, those were different times!
Oh, all the poets they studied rules of verse
And those ladies, they rolled their eyes
Sweet jane! whoa! sweet jane, oh-oh-a! sweet jane!
Ill tell you something
Jack, he is a banker
And jane, she is a clerk
Both of them save their monies, ha
And when, when they come home from work
Oh, sittin down by the fire, oh!
The radio does play
The classical music there, jim
The march of the wooden soldiers
All you protest kids
You can hear jack say, get ready, ah
Sweet jane! come on baby! sweet jane! oh-oh-a! sweet jane!
Some people, they like to go out dancing
And other peoples, they have to work, just watch me now!
And theres even some evil mothers
Well theyre gonna tell you that everything is just dirt
Yknow that, women, never really faint
And that villains always blink their eyes, woo!
And that, yknow, children are the only ones who blush!
And that, life is just to die!
And, everyone who ever had a heart
They wouldnt turn around and break it
And anyone who ever played a part
Oh wouldnt turn around and hate it!
Sweet jane! whoa-oh-oh! sweet jane! sweet jane!
Heavenly wine and roses
Seems to whisper to her when he smiles
Heavenly wine and roses
Seems to whisper to her when she smiles
La lala lala la, la lala lala la
Sweet jane
Sweet jane

| Hi again Labcab I am curious which mountains you love the best. I have spent a lot of time in the Colorado and Canadian rockies as well as the Smokies and try to get out west at least a couple times a year. JJ is too kind, I enjoy art and it is part of my work but my father was always more pragmatic and insisted I attend business school also so I got a little side tracked. It is always great to be able to follow your heart but not always easy at a young age when you have yet to earn the money to do as you wish. Another Kinks song Girl, you really got me goin'
You got me so I don't know what I'm doin', now
Yeah, you really got me now
You got me so I can't sleep at night
Yeah, you really got me now
You got me so I don't know what I'm doin', now
Oh yeah, you really got me now
You got me so I can't sleep at night
You Really Got Me
You Really Got Me
You Really Got Me
See, don't ever set me free
I always wanna be by your side
Girl, you really got me now
You got me so I can't sleep at night
Yeah, you really got me now
You got me so I don't know what I'm doin', now
Oh yeah, you really got me now
You got me so I can't sleep at night
You Really Got Me
You Really Got Me
You Really Got Me
Oh no...
(solo)
See, don't ever set me free
I always wanna be by your side
Girl, you really got me now
You got me so I can't sleep at night
Yeah, you really got me now
You got me so I don't know what I'm doin', now
Oh yeah, you really got me now
You got me so I can't sleep at night
You Really Got Me
You Really Got Me
You Really Got Me Dinner out was great. You know you might want to cut back a bit on alcohol consumption when the manager of the restaurant comes to your table and says "I saw them mixing drinks in the back and figured you must be here again". I had only one drink since I was driving but Kelly and Diane are another matter. I need to have a long talk with those girls about sobriety and curtailing some of their youthful exuberance. I best wait till the sober up though lol they are laughing too much to fully comprehend right now. This might be a good time to hide the Patron and limes or I am in for a long evening. Greg
