kelly have you been peeking in my closet? I am more of the French maid type but thanks for thinking of me lol. Ok Greg you posted your one bizarre song for this millenium and no I do not think I can top that for weirdness , keep it up and we will have to tie you to a whipping post.

Another U2 song,

Love Rescue Me

Love rescue me
Come forth and speak to me
Raise me up and don't let me fall
No man is my enemy
My own hands imprison me
Love rescue me

Many strangers have I met
On the road to my regret
Many lost who seek to find themselves in me
They ask me to reveal
The very thoughts they would conceal
Love rescue me

And the sun in the sky
Makes a shadow of you and I
Stretching out as the sun sinks in the sea
I'm here without a name
In the palace of my shame
Said, love rescue me

In the cold mirror of a glass
I see my reflection pass
See the dark shades of what I used to be
See the purple of her eyes
The scarlet of my lies
Love rescue me

Yea, though I walk
In the valley of shadow
Yea, I will fear no evil
I have cursed thy rod and staff
They no longer comfort me
Love rescue me

Sha la la...sha la la la
Sha la la la...ha la la...
Sha la la la...sha la la la
Sha la la la...sha la la
Sha la la la...sha la la la
Sha la la...
I said love, love rescue me

I said love
Climb up the mountains, said love
I said love, oh my love
On the hill of the son
I'm on the eve of a storm
And my word you must believe in
Oh, I said love, rescue me
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah...

Yeah I'm here without a name
In the palace of my shame
I said love rescue me

I've conquered my past
The future is here at last
I stand at the entrance
To a new world I can see
The ruins to the right of me
Will soon have lost sight of me
Love rescue me

So i have been reading alot about Frida Khalo lately and came across a quote of hers that i find interesting. This woman was so creative and strong (just saw the movie..thanks jj!) here is her quote:

" I paint my own reality. The only thing i know is that i paint because i need to , and i paint whatever passes through my head without any other consideration."

Oh, I found this all American folk tune which highly reflects country living,
The song is there, you can listen to it and also read the lyrics...
Let me know what you think.

I am not so sure whipping would be a good thing.

Spanking might just be another matter.  I am still trying to think of a witty retort for taking the first everything on me lol. Maybe you California girls have some new things I have not experienced before but then there might be a reason for that.

Ok Dero that is one strange song lol.,

I will try to think of some lyrics or quotes later but I promised to join JJ for some dinner and talk about our project.

Ivet you are too funny lol!!! Here is someone we have not talked about yet.

Baby we can talk all night
But that ain't getting us nowhere
I told you everything I possibly can
There's nothing left inside of here

And maybe you can cry all night
But that'll never change the way I feel
The snow is really piling up outside
I wish you wouldn't make me leave here

I poured it on and I poured it out
I tried to show you just how much I care
I'm tired of words and I'm too hoarse to shout
But you've been cold to me so long
I'm crying icicles instead of tears

And all I can do is keep on telling you
I want you
I need you
But there ain't no way
I'm ever gonna love you
Now don't be sad
'Cause two out of three ain't bad
Now don't be sad
'Cause two out of three ain't bad

You'll never find your gold on a sandy beach
You'll never drill for oil on a city street
I know you're looking for a ruby
In a mountain of rocks
But there ain't no Coupe de Ville hiding
At the bottom of a Cracker Jack box

I can't lie
I can't tell you that I'm something I'm not
No matter how I try
I'll never be able to give you something
Something that I just haven't got

There's only one girl that I will ever love
And that was so many years ago
And though I know I'll never get her out of my heart
She never loved me back, ooh I know
I remember how she left me on a stormy night
She kissed me and got out of our bed
And though I pleaded and I begged her
Not to walk out that door
She packed her bags and turned right away

And she kept on telling me
She kept on telling me
She kep on telling me
I want you
I need you
But there ain't no way
I'm ever gonna love you
Now don't be sad
'Cause two out of three ain't bad
Don't be sad
'Cause two out of three ain't bad

Baby we can talk all night
But that ain't getting us nowhere

the same person wrote this song:

Total Eclipse Of The Heart

Turnaround every now and then I get a little bit lonely And you're never coming round. Turnaround every now and then I get a little bit tired Of listening to the sound of my tears. Turnaround every now and then I get a little bit nervous That the best of all the years have gone by. Turnaround every now and then I get a little bit terrified And then I see the look in your eyes. Turnaround bright eyes every now and then I fall apart. Turnaround bright eyes every now and then I fall apart. Turnaround every now and then I get a little bit restless And I dream of something wild. Turnaround every now and then I get a little bit helpless And I'm lying like a child in your arms. Turnaround every now and then I get a little bit angry And I know I've got to get out and cry. Turnaround every now and then I get a little bit terrified But then I see the look in your eyes. Turnaround bright eyes every now and then I fall apart. Turnaround bright eyes every now and then I fall apart. And I need you now tonight and I need you more than ever And if you'll only hold me tight we'll be holding on forever And we'll only be making it right cause we'll never be wrong together We can take it to the end of the line. Your love is like a shadow on me all of the time I don't know what to do and I'm always in the dark. We're living in a powder keg and giving off sparks. I really need you tonight - forever's gonna start tonight Forever's gonna start tonight. Once upon a time I was falling in love but now I'm only falling apart. There's nothing I can do - a total eclipse of the heart. Once upon a time there was light in my life But now there's only love in the dark. Nothing I can say - a total eclipse of the heart. Turnaround bright eyes turnaround bright eyes. Turnaround every now and then I know you'll never be The boy you always wanted to be. Turnaround but every now and then I know you'll always be The only boy who wanted me the way that I am. Turnaround every now and then I know there's no one In the universe as magical and wonderous as you Turnaround every now and then I know There's nothing any better and there's nothing that I just wouldn't do. Turnaround bright eyes everynow and then I fall apart. Turnaround bright eyes everynow and then I fall apart. And I need you now tonight and I need you more than ever ... Once upon a time I was falling in love but now I'm only falling apart... A total eclipse of the heart a total eclipse of the heart. Turnaround bright eyes turnaround bright eyes turnaround.

I have not seen it more than a dozen times I would guess.  I think Jim Steinman is the author of the two songs JJ listed. Meatloaf was on both, probably the most famous Meatloaf and Steinman collaboration is this:

I. Paradise

Boy:
Well I remember every little thing
As if it happened only yesterday
Parking by the lake
And there was not another car in sight
And I never had a girl
Looking any better than you did
And all the kids at school
They were wishing they were me that night

And now our bodies are oh so close and tight
It never felt so good, it never felt so right
And we're glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife
Glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife
C'mon! Hold on tight!
Well c'mon! Hold on tight!

Though it's cold and lonely in the deep dark night
I can see paradise by the dashboard light

Girl:
Ain't no doubt about it
We were doubly blessed
Cause we were barely seventeen
And we were barely dressed

Ain't no doubt about it
Baby got to go and shout it
Ain't no doubt about it
We were doubly blessed

Boy:
Cause we were barely seventeen
And we were barely dressed

Baby doncha hear my heart
You got it drowning out the radio
I've been waiting so long
For you to come along and have some fun

And I gotta let ya know
No you're never gonna regret it
So open up your eyes I got a big surprise
It'll feel all right
Well I wanna make your motor run

And now our bodies are oh so close and tight
It never felt so good, it never felt so right
And we're glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife
glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife
C'mon! Hold on tight!
Well c'mon! Hold on tight!

Though it's cold and lonley in the deep dark night
I can see paradise by the dashboard light
Though it's cold and lonley in the deep dark night
Paradise by the dashboard light

You got to do what you can
And let Mother Nature do the rest
Ain't no doubt about it
We were doubly blessed
Cause we were barely seventeen
And we were barely--

We're gonna go all the way tonight
We're gonna go allt he way An' tonight's the night...
We're gonna go all the way tonight
We're gonna go allt he way An' tonight's the night...
We're gonna go all the way tonight
We're gonna go allt he way An' tonight's the night...

Radio Broadcast:
Ok, here we go, we got a real pressure cooker
going here, two down, nobody on, no score,
bottom of the ninth, there's the wind-up and
there it is, a line shot up the middle, look
at him go. This boy can really fly!
He's rounding first and really turning it on
now, he's not letting up at all, he's gonna
try for second; the ball is bobbled out in center,
and here comes the throw, and what a throw!
He's gonna slide in head first, here he comes, he's out!
No, wait, safe--safe at second base, this kid really
makes things happen out there.
Batter steps up to the plate, here's the pitch--
he's going, and what a jump he's got, he's trying
for third, here's the throw, it's in the dirt--
safe at third! Holy cow, stolen base!
He's taking a pretty big lead out there, almost
daring him to try and pick him off. The pitcher
glance over, winds up, and it's bunted, bunted
down the third base line, the suicide squeeze in on!
Here he comes, squeeze play, it's gonna be close,
here's the throw, there's the play at the plate,
holy cow, I think he's gonna make it!

II. Let Me Sleep On It

Girl:
Stop right there!
I gotta know right now!
Before we go any further--!
Do you love me?
Will you love me forever?
Do you need me?
Will you never leave me?
Will you make me so happy for the rest of my life?
Will you take me away and will you make me your wife?
Do you love me!?
Will you love me forever!?
Do you need me!?
Will you never leave me!?
Will you make me so happy for the rest of my life!?
Will you take me away and will you make me your wife!?
I gotta know right now
Before we go any further
Do you love me!!!?
Will you love me forever!!!?

Boy:
Let me sleep on it
Baby, baby let me sleep on it
Well let me sleep on it
And I'll give you my answer in the morning

Well let me sleep on it
Baby, baby let me sleep on it
Well let me sleep on it
And I'll give you my answer in the morning

Well let me sleep on it
Baby, baby let me sleep on it
Well let me sleep on it
And I'll give you my answer in the morning

Girl:
I gotta know right now!
Do you love me?
Will you love me forever?
Do you need me?
Will you never leave me?
Will you make me so happy for the rest of my life?
Will you take me away and will you make me your wife?
I gotta know right now!
Before we go any further
Do you love me?
And will you love me forever?

What's it gonna be boy? Yes or No?
What's it gonna be boy? Yes or No?
What's it gonna be boy? Yes or No?

Boy:
Let me sleep on it
Baby, baby let me sleep on it
Let me sleep on it
And I'll give you my answer in the morning
Let me sleep on it!!!

Girl:
Will you love me forever?

Boy:
Let me sleep on it!!!

Girl:
Will you love me forever!!!

III. Praying for the End of Time

Boy:
I couldn't take it any longer
Lord I was crazed
And when the feeling came upon me
Like a tidal wave
I started swearing to my god and on my mother's grave
That I would love you to the end of time
I swore that I would love you to the end of time!

So now I'm praying for the end of time
To hurry up and arrive
Cause if I gotta spend another minute with you
I don't think that I can really survive
I'll never break my promise or forget my vow
But God only knows what I can do right now
I'm praying for the end of time
It's all that I can do
Praying for the end of time, so I can end my time with you!!!

Boy:
It was long ago and it was far away
and it was so much better than it is today

Girl:
It never felt so good
It never felt so right
And we were glowing like
A metal on the edge of a knife.

Fabulous song but one you rarely hear on the radio, it is too long.

Another long song is this:

A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
How that music used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And, maybe, they’d be happy for a while.

But february made me shiver
With every paper I’d deliver.
Bad news on the doorstep;
I couldn’t take one more step.

I can’t remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride,
But something touched me deep inside
The day the music died.

So bye-bye, miss american pie.
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
And them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."

Did you write the book of love,
And do you have faith in God above,
If the Bible tells you so?
Do you believe in rock ’n roll,
Can music save your mortal soul,
And can you teach me how to dance real slow?

Well, I know that you’re in love with him
`cause I saw you dancin’ in the gym.
You both kicked off your shoes.
Man, I dig those rhythm and blues.

I was a lonely teenage broncin’ buck
With a pink carnation and a pickup truck,
But I knew I was out of luck
The day the music died.

I started singin’,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."

Now for ten years we’ve been on our own
And moss grows fat on a rollin’ stone,
But that’s not how it used to be.
When the jester sang for the king and queen,
In a coat he borrowed from james dean
And a voice that came from you and me,

Oh, and while the king was looking down,
The jester stole his thorny crown.
The courtroom was adjourned;
No verdict was returned.
And while lennon read a book of marx,
The quartet practiced in the park,
And we sang dirges in the dark
The day the music died.

We were singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."

Helter skelter in a summer swelter.
The birds flew off with a fallout shelter,
Eight miles high and falling fast.
It landed foul on the grass.
The players tried for a forward pass,
With the jester on the sidelines in a cast.

Now the half-time air was sweet perfume
While the sergeants played a marching tune.
We all got up to dance,
Oh, but we never got the chance!
`cause the players tried to take the field;
The marching band refused to yield.
Do you recall what was revealed
The day the music died?

We started singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."

Oh, and there we were all in one place,
A generation lost in space
With no time left to start again.
So come on: jack be nimble, jack be quick!
Jack flash sat on a candlestick
Cause fire is the devil’s only friend.

Oh, and as I watched him on the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage.
No angel born in hell
Could break that satan’s spell.
And as the flames climbed high into the night
To light the sacrificial rite,
I saw satan laughing with delight
The day the music died

He was singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."

I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news,
But she just smiled and turned away.
I went down to the sacred store
Where I’d heard the music years before,
But the man there said the music wouldn’t play.

And in the streets: the children screamed,
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed.
But not a word was spoken;
The church bells all were broken.
And the three men I admire most:
The father, son, and the holy ghost,
They caught the last train for the coast
The day the music died.

And they were singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
And them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."

They were singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die."

and one more from an earlier time period that my mother told me about:

the lyrics are unusual but pretty,

Spring was never waiting for us, girl
It ran one step ahead
As we followed in the dance
Between the parted pages and were pressed,
In love's hot, fevered iron
Like a striped pair of pants

CHORUS
MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down...
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no!

I recall the yellow cotton dress
Foaming like a wave
On the ground around your knees
The birds, like tender babies in your hands
And the old men playing checkers by the trees

CHORUS

There will be another song for me
For I will sing it
There will be another dream for me
Someone will bring it
I will drink the wine while it is warm
And never let you catch me looking at the sun
And after all the loves of my life
After all the loves of my life
You'll still be the one.

I will take my life into my hands and I will use it
I will win the worship in their eyes and I will lose it
I will have the things that I desire
And my passion flow like rivers through the sky.
And after all the loves of my life
After all the loves of my life
I'll be thinking of you
And wondering why.

MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down...
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no!
Oh, no
No, no
Oh NO!! (upon which Harris suffers an irreversible gender change)

The theme tonight was long songs lol.

Hmmm I should have included some Pink Floyd, I will save that for another night.

Good Night Jen, and JJ, and Kelly, and Ivet, and Karen, and Lala, and Diane, and Carolyn, and Tammy, and Julie, and Jeanine, and Tracy, and Tracy, and Tracy and Stacy. Does any one notice a trend in names here lol.

Later

Greg

Ok..to me, this song by Queen is the most complex..what was he thinking when he wrote this song..and did he know he was going to die? It's soooo weird. What do you guys think?

Bohemian Raphsody

Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see
I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy
Because I'm easy come, easy go
A little high, little low
Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me, to me

Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead
Mama, life had just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooo
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters

Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
Body's aching all the time
Goodbye everybody - I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama, ooo - (anyway the wind blows)
I don't want to die
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all

I see a little silhouetto of a man
Scaramouch, scaramouch will you do the fandango
Thunderbolt and lightning - very very frightening me
Gallileo, Gallileo,
Gallileo, Gallileo,
Gallileo Figaro - magnifico

But I'm just a poor boy and nobody loves me
He's just a poor boy from a poor family
Spare him his life from this monstrosity
Easy come easy go - will you let me go
Bismillah! No - we will not let you go - let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go - let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go - let me go
Will not let you go - let me go (never)
Never let you go - let me go
Never let me go - ooo
No, no, no, no, no, no, no -
Oh mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me
for me
for me

So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye
So you think you can love me and leave me to die
Oh baby - can't do this to me baby
Just gotta get out - just gotta get right outta here

Ooh yeah, ooh yeah
Nothing really matters
Anyone can see
Nothing really matters - nothing really matters to me

Anyway the wind blows...

I looked it up Ivet and Bohemian Rapsody first appeared in 1975 and Freddie Mercury died in November 1991 so I doubt the song is related. Aids was not identified till 1981 so it would have been hard to relate the song with Freddies death.

Freddie had a vocal range of F2-D6, three octaves and a half, 46 tones. Jennifer or Greg can better explain that than me but he had an extraordinary talent.

We Are The Champions lyrics

I've paid my dues
Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face
But I've come through

We are the champions my friends
And we'll keep on fighting till the end
We are the champions We are the champions
No time for losers 'Cause we are the champions of the world

I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls
You brought me fame and fortune and everything that goes with it
I thank you all

But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race
And I ain't gonna lose

We are the champions my friend
And we'll keep on fighting till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'cause we are the champions of the (world)

Another Freddie Mercury song.

Greg I loved these lines from a song you posted:

I recall the yellow cotton dress
Foaming like a wave
On the ground around your knees
The birds, like tender babies in your hands

Excellent topics Ivet and Kelly (sexy nurse outfit huh?) I need to read these posts more carefully. I might be developing a slight cough and could probably use a nurse if only I knew one.

Jennifer knows more about vocal ranges I am sure but Freddie did have a remarkable voice. It is hard to find comparisons to him in rock music. The exceptions might be Steven Tyler or Robert Plant I would think.

LOL!! I have a feeling Halloween is going to be some good fun for you all this year! Take pictures!! Hmmm...I should start thinking about my costume. It's a big birthday....ideas are welcome!

Even if you're not really a singer you should naturally have nearly a two octave range - think about the normal tone you speak in and inflections, excitement, etc. Your vocal chords are like muscles, you have to work and train them in order for them to expand octaves and to build vocal memory. Freddie was a tenor and could reach some amazing high notes (I bet the tight pants helped!). No doubt his voice was quite impressive.

They say that people like Celine Dion and Mariah Carey have five - five and half octave ranges, which I think is almost crazy inhuman, but not impossible. Maybe it's just for PR - I should know right? LOL:) The great tenors and people like Renee Fleming and Samuel Ramsey, just to name a few, have solid four and half -octave ranges with the ability to expand for the music they're singing (but they have to train for these parts specifically), and they are the top singers in the world. When I was singing I had just over three and half octaves and that was low C to Middle C to High C and if I really wanted it I could grab a high E (yes that's above the point which glass can break). But that was a long time ago, so you can imagine how amazing their voices are.

What you mentioned, Kelly, actually describes vocal frequency. There are also physical factors that play into vocal frequency and quality - think "until the fat lady sings". Larger people have more "body" for the sound to resonate in and it was considered the preferred physique for opera singers, although there are plenty of thin vocalists with HUGE voices. As far as ranges go, it's a little complicated to explain here, but I think Wikipedia does a good job - lots of graphics and all, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vocal_range. Just in case you're curious enough to learn about ranges or have nothing better to do! LOL!!

And on another note, I've been listening to this album today:

Fiels are white in snowy spring and I can't remember the last time that I've seen her
The highway is still cold and wet and I can't forget the way I had to leave her
And every passing day, she flickers and she fades
Is someone to help her when she falls from the heavens
And I'll love her yet, though she has done me wrong
And I'll bring her back, though she has been long gone
And I'll always be her, broken hearted savior
And every night takes out the little life that's left within her
Every man she gives her love, he takes it, and leaves her with a dinner
Our love was once a flame, now I'm just a forgotten name
Am I the only one to blame for loving her?

It seems to me, you and me
Are chasing something
What it is does anybody here want to know
It seems to you, you and me
Are forgetting something
When love is so easily forgotten
And if I pick you up will you drag me down?
Id I run to you will you turn around?
Rise and fall turn the wheel cause all life
Is really just a circle
It seems to me, you and me
Are being chased by something
What it is has anybody apprehended?
It seems to me, you and me
Are terrified of nothing
When nothing is the reason we are here
Oh, nothing at all
And if I cry to you, will you laugh me down?
But I'm asking you to turn around
Rise and fall turn the wheel cause all life
Is really just a circle

Well, today's been one of those days, and I've been reading Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy lately, so this statement has been running through my mind all day:

"It must be Thursday. I never could get the hang of Thursdays."

LOL!! I have a feeling Halloween is going to be some good fun for you all this year! Take pictures!! Hmmm...I should start thinking about my costume. It's a big birthday....ideas are welcome!

Jennifer you should be careful asking JJ or Kelly for costume ideas. You are likely to see and learn things they do not teach in Kansas lol.

Thanks for the help on the vocal range thing, I knew you would have a much better answer than me.

One more Meatloaf,

It was a hot summer night and the beach was burning
There was a fog crawling over the sand
When I listen to your heart I hear the whole world turning
I see the shooting stars
Falling through your trembling hands
You were licking your lips and your lipstick shining
I was dying just to ask for a taste
We were lying together in a silver lining
By the light of the moon
You know there's not another moment to waste
Not another moment
Not another moment to waste
You hold me so close that my knees grow weak
But my soul is flying high above the ground
I'm trying to speak but no matter what I do
I just can't seem to make any sound
And then you took the words right out of my mouth
Oh-it must have been while you were kissing me
You took the words right out of my mouth
And I swear it's true
I was just about to say I love you
And then you took the words right out of my mouth
Oh-it must have been while you were kissing me
You took the words right out of my mouth
And I swear it's true
I was just about to say I love you
Now my body is shaking like a wave on the water
And I guess that I'm beginning to grin
Oooh, we're finally alone and we can do what we want to
The night is young
And ain't no one gonna know where
No one gonna know where
No one's gonna know where you've been
You were licking your lips and your lipstick shining
I was dying just to ask for a taste
We were lying together in a silver lining
By the light of the moon
You know there's not another moment to waste
Not another moment
Not another moment to waste
And then you took the words right out of my mouth
Oh-it must have been while you were kissing me
You took the words right out of my mouth
And I swear it's true
I was just about to say I love you
And then you took the words right out of my mouth
Oh-it must have been while you were kissing me
You took the words right out of my mouth
And I swear it's true
I was just about to say I love you

Excellent quote Shadow. I have a Sci Fi book club meeting today at my store. Later on I will have to suggest Hitchhikers Guide so I can re read it again one day. It has been ages for me since I read the trilogy.

Last night a few of us talked Greg into singing after a book club meeting. I had heard this song before but had no idea of its origins. He sang it a cappella and it was so lovely.

The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and the stars were the gifts you gave
To the night and the empty skies my love
To the night and the empty skies
The first time ever I kissed your mouth
I felt the earth turn in my hand
Like the trembling heart of a captive bird
That was there at my command my love
That was there at my command

The first time ever I lay with you
And felt your heart beat close to mine
I thought our joy would fill the earth
And would last till the end of time my love
And would last till the end of time

The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and the stars were the gifts you gave
To the night and the empty skies my love
To the night and the empty skies

I looked it up and it was written in 1957 by Ewan MacColl for his wife Peggy Seeger.

He also wrote this.

When I was a bachelor, I liv'd all alone
I worked at the weaver's trade
And the only, only thing that I ever did wrong
Was to woo a fair young maid.
I wooed her in the wintertime
And in the summer, too
And the only, only thing that I did that was wrong
Was to keep her from the foggy, foggy dew.

One night she came to my bedside
When I was fast asleep.
She laid her head upon my bed
And she began to weep.
She sighed, she cried, she damn near died
She said what shall I do?
So I hauled her into bed and covered up her head
Just to keep her from the foggy foggy dew.

So, I am a bachelor, I live with my son
and we work at the weaver's trade.
And every single time that I look into his eyes
He reminds me of that fair young maid.
He reminds me of the wintertime
And of the summer, too,
And of the many, many times that I held her in my arms
Just to keep her from the foggy, foggy, dew

That song is really remarkable when done right and Gregs version was sexy.

Tomorrow if the weather is good Kelly and I will get a chance to go swimming with Skyler and Rusty and Joker. Those dogs love the water. We will all be at Gregs to work on a project but I hope to have time for some fun too. The pond is pretty secluded so it is a great place to get a tan.

"Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish. "
