Re: Patriots Day

I didn't loose anybody on that fateful day, but my heart goes out to everyone that did. It is truly a day that will never be forgotten.

Re: Patriots Day

I was preparing to go to school to teach in Fair Haven, NJ, when I saw the first plane hit the tower, live, on the news. I saw the second plane hit the second tower and then proceeded to watch the towers fall. It was devastating. I did go to school, only to find the school in a "lock-down" state of emergency. The students thought the school was under attack. The teachers were crying. Students wanted to go home and be with their families. Parents started to come to school to pick their children up. Unfortunately, several of my students lost loved ones. One family of three girls in our school lost their Dad. They did not return to school for another month. I attended 9 funerals following 9/11, including one for one of our teacher's husband who died. Still, enormously devastating seven years later. God bless all of the families who lost anyone.
When I got home with my son after school, the black skies were so eerie. There were black ashes floating into our house and the soot inside the house was unbearable. We had to close all of the windows for days until the ashes settled to the ground. We walked down the street to the beach and could see across the bay where all the devastation occured. My family will never forget.

Re: Patriots Day

I was in bed when my mom came in and told me to turn on to Good Morning, America. Being on the West Coast, at the time...it was pretty early, I wasn't fully awake. So I turned it on and as my eyes adjusted to the brightness of the t.v. set, I didn't realize what I was seeing. It took me a minute or two to figure out that it was the World Trade Centers burning. I remember that I felt numb and wondered how could that happen. Even now, seven years later, I can't believe it did. Who could hates us that much to do that? They weren't just affecting Americans, but ALL THE WORLD. I will never forget and still know why we're fighting in this war. The answer has been from the past and will be in the future. I just want our soldiers and everyone else's to come back home safely.

Re: Patriots Day

Such a black day in history. I can't believe it is seven years later and still I shudder as I remember the horror my eyes saw on TV way in California. I had a friend in New York for the fashion week and he couldnt get home. My heart really feels for the families who lost someone on that day of devestation. God Bless us every one. God help those who inflict pain upon the innocent. You will be reckoned with.

Re: Patriots Day

I think everyone will have that day etched in their mind forever.
We think of those that were lost and hope that we find a way that it never happens again.
Bless this country and all that live here in peace.
