This is one of the cutest stories of the week! A wonderfully maternal Golden Retriever has saved the lives of three abandoned white tiger cubs.
"A dog doesn’t only have to be man’s best friend: At Safari Zoological Park in Caney, Kan., a young golden retriever named Isabella has taken over mothering duties for a trio of newborn tiger cubs.
Zoo owner Tom Harvey said this unusual — but not unheard of — canine-to-feline surrogacy has actually saved the lives of the newborns. “[Isabella] is literally saving these cubs day by day,” he told TODAY co-host Meredith Vieira on Friday. “It’s actually just been a miracle.”

I saw this on the news also. The mom wasn't interested in nursing her cubs, the shot of the mom was so wonderful, she looked so regal and indifferent, if that is possible. What a sweet sweet Golden Retriever! That image is so enchanting!

I fell in love with this story the minute I saw it on the news! This is totally awesome. I passed it along to my co-workers so the next time I hear "That's not my job" I will remind them of this story!!

Oh; this is a wonderful story! I also saw it on the news. How heartwarming to see how animals do not have boundries regarding motherhood and species. She only saw these precious little cubs as babies needing a Mom and nothing else...
We have so much to learn from the animals. >^..^<
