Scientists are starting to believe more and more that pets may be the key to predicting earthquakes. There have been numerous reports of pets behaving strangely right before a quake:
"Shelley Hettig, registered veterinary technician at Desert Dunes Animal Hospital said she firmly believes animals have a ‘sixth sense’ when it comes to predicting earthquakes.
“They’re on the ground in bare feet and they can feel these things. Their senses are so much more alive than ours,” Hettig said Thursday."
If you experienced yesterday's ground-shaker in Southern California, how did your pets react?

Re: Did Your Pet Know?
I DO NOT KNOW ABOUT EARTHQUAKES, BUT WHAT I DO KNOW IS THAT WHEN I AM ABOUT TO HAVE AN ATTACK BY A VERY SEVERE BOUT WITH RESTLESS LEGS SYNDROME MY YELLOW LAB WILL COME OVER AND TRY TO GET ME TO STAND UP [ WHICH AT TIMES DOES HELP ] HE SOMEHOW KNOWS BEFORE I DO THAT I AM IN TROUBLE. IF WE WERE TO SIMPLY LISTEN TO OUR FURRY FRIENDS WE WOULD BE MORE IN TOUCH LIFE. BONNIE

Re: Did Your Pet Know?
I live in AZ and my Farley was acting weird all afternoon before the Southern Cal quake the other day. I admit quite honestly that I didn't pay enough attention to when the earthquake occurred but part of me wonders if he felt it from here. Truly, Alexandria

Re: Did Your Pet Know?
I didn't think that cats were too aware of things like earthquakes but when the last one happened here in CA, my cats had decided to come inside and were definitely letting me know that something was about to happen; I was just to dumb to be aware of the warning that they gave me. They were circling around my legs and meowing like mad; another would move from room to room as I moved and didn't let out of his sight. Yes, I firmly believe that they know when something like that is coming and will let us know if we will only listen.
