Thanks to member Labdp for her contributions to our blog!
If you count males to females in this household, the current count is males - 5. Females - 2. That includes the four-legged menagerie, and the two legged minority.
5 - 2, and yet, the women rule the roost. Just as it should be. Not exactly an equal division of labor, but women are used to picking up the slack.
If you count TV remotes, the count is 6-3. But for the moment there are two tv's in the front room, and four remotes on the coffee table. Odds are not good I'll ever pick up the correct remote the first time. My son offered to label them for me, to help with the process. I'm sure the signs would say - wrong one, try again. Or, not this one blondie. Or, so close and yet so far. I think I'll stick to the computer and leave the tv to the guys.
Paw count is 16 at present. Always subject to change. Two goofy young males, one cranky old pointer, one female springer prone to mood swings. And of course all of them want to be at my feet as I type.
Out numbered? Perhaps. But not out smarted. You can count on that. They all add up to a blessed life. Thumbs up and paws down.

Re: Out Numbered
How about 11 guys to 5 gals including me. Thats when I puppysit my daqughters dog which seems to be everyday. Otherwise its 11 to 4. Seems the guys have outnumbered me for a long time, just not with me. Yes, I am the one and only 2 legged gal in this house, but I seem to be on my toes most of the time.

Helping Local Shelter
Just thought that I would let everyone who does not know yet a couple of ways that they can help their local Shelter. I belong to the Friends OF the Animal Shelter here where I live, right now I take an animal to the tv station then to a store to show just how pretty and nice of a pet it (dog or cat) can be. My dog Sadie and I also go to the school's here for Penny's for Paws which mean we give each class a glass jar, in a week the class puts in change, etc. then the class that gets the most gets a Pizza and pop party. Saide and about 4 other dogs go to the all school assemply and the party. The kids can't wait for us to come and love having the dogs, we let them all (the whole school at once) pet all of the dogs and the kids love hereing about how we got them from the Shelter. There are alot of others who do more, I just can't take going down there to often I want to talke them all home.
