I strongly believe that all living creatures have souls. Just because we cannot comprehend all God's work doesn't give us the right to decide who's got what and why. There's so much unconditioned love in a dog's eyes that we might wonder: "who's got more soul?"

Of course they do, how can you look into an animals eyes and not see straight into their soul? I wouldn't go as far as to say if you can't see it then you don't have a soul either, some people just aren't in tune with animals.... they may not have ever experienced that special moment when you just fall in love with an animal.... or had the chance to. Some people get it and others just don't.

There is no question in my mind that all animals have souls. They feel love, grief and fear as humans do. It's sad to think that not everyone believes this.

Yes they do have souls as I feel they are very very close to being human with the exception of being able to really speak, which I truly wish they could especially when they aren't well. Their eyes tell you a lot but if they had a voice that would just be great.

No one could ever convince me that dogs do not have souls. They are much more evolved in many aspects then humans and they show more signs of being linked to a higher level then many of us...
It's a shame that there are some that see them as lesser beings.

I also believe all animals have souls. I've seen my girls (3 cats) go through periods of mourning, and so many other emotions that some people without 4 legged children just don't understand. I know in my heart that when my time comes, I we be reunited with all the animals I've shared my life with since childhood.

Of course dogs have souls!! They are pure love and unconditional love. I think they are more attuned to God and love then we humans are. I think all animals have souls. Their capacity for love filled me with awe. Like they say, if only I could love as well as my dog! They are my favorite creation. A world without animals would be hell to me too.

What a very beautiful thought! I believe that all animals and especially dogs have souls and that dogs can second guess when a person is going to die and mourn that person. Our beautiful shepherd ran away the night our grandmother died from her stroke He sat beside her and cried and cried and cried as he knew she was going to go to heaven. Dogs have feelings and souls. All animals do.

I often ask my pastor's that question. The answer would always come back no. I wanted to know If my dogs and cats would be in Heaven. I'm very religous and I know no matter how many no's I got I still beleived they would. Then my husband got me this video called (Animals in Heaven?) By Dr. Jack & Rexella Van Impe. They tell you straight from Bible passages that they will be there. If your Christian and read Revelations It talks about two white horses in Heaven.

How could that be a question. I'd like to see a pet that doesn't have a soul. Even animals that are abused and neglected have a soul. Animals that are ill, struggling with pain strive to stay with their humans as long as poosible becuase they don't want us to suffer, now tell me that pets don't have souls.

I have found many scripture's in the bible that relate to animals being near the alter of God in heaven and being judged as well as humans. So I also do believe that they have souls otherwise they would not be mentioned at all !

Please do not say "especially dogs"...no animal is above another. My birds have souls just as much as any dog. I am sure those who are guardians for cats believe that cats have souls. Same for those guardians of rats, ferrets, mice, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbil, rabbits, reptiles...and... you get the point.

They (and WE) are all God's creatures.

I believe that anyone, of any species, who has the desire to help or heal another living creature has a soul. I personally have known a dog and a horse who went out of their way to offer comfort and healing to other souls who were suffering.

To add...it is not only pets...It is every animal.

I don't believe because an animal is a pet, that is has exclusivity on having a soul.

The pigeon on the street has a soul.

So does the possum or deer in the woods.

The chicken and the pig and cow also. A turkey. I will not open that discussion and do not want to get sidetracked. But I think some of you might know where that is headed.

But please, let's answer the question at hand.

God does not choose who has souls on beauty.

Let's remember very living being. All created by God. All His creatures.

I keep thinking, "All creatures great and small, the Lord God loves them all". How could a rational person even question it? Life would be very unpleasant if I thought differently. Animals are basically pure of heart and only become mean when man becomes involved. Let's not complicate the simple beauty, truth and spirituality of our animal friends.

As a christian, I believe in the resurrection, where God's victory is completed and every single human being will be resurrected in a perfect glorified body. Now, if this is to happen, then it follows that ALL creation will be made new. That includes every living being, especially pets. Pets have a special place since they were loved by humans and humans loved them. I believe our God is merciful enough to reunite us with all our loved ones, inclucing our furry ones.

I also believe all animals have souls. You can look them in the eyes and see that there is a soul, that there is so much more to them. I don't think we'd have the relationship with them that we do if they didn't have souls. And they definately use theirs better than humans do sometimes!

I had a dog, gone now by old age, who had weathered 2 divorces and the termoil of her "master". She felt my pain and gave her compassion, looking deep into her eyes, I saw hope for the two of us. I'm very thankful that both of our lives had progressed to happiness before her passing. When it was time to take that final journey, I felt her relief and satisfaction that she had done all she could have to promote our mutual happiness. She went quietly and painlessly to he place where deserving dogs go. I only wish that I may be as deserving when it's my turn, that I may see her again and cross the Bridge with her.
For wherever she has gone, that's where I want to be.

Absolutely !. I feel God created all life and in doing so he gave all living things a soul. Even inanimant objects have auras, in a sense couldnt it be a soul of the object. Check out Kerlian photography, but I believe animas have souls. I know I want to be joined in heaven by all my precious pets that have passed, most especially my heart in a black lab that has lay beside me for the past 13 years, my heart, my life, Sophie.

I believe animals definitley have souls. They each possess unique personalities and quirks that could only stem from having a soul. I have never met one animal or pet that was exactly like another. They are able to feel love, sadness and even embarassment. I know that my cats' love for me is not only based on the fact that I am the one that feeds them.

I think every creature on this planet has a soul. Like so many other people answering this question, all you have to do is look into an animals eyes and you see that soul shining through. I also think they stay with us for awhile after they pass on, to give us comfort from beyond death. Personally, I am looking forward to being reunited with all my past pets, especially my horse, Tornado Boy.

of course they do. we all do. i'm not religeous but when it comes to my pets, i believe. i believe i'll see them again some day. wherever they are. i also believe that it took 2 days for my last dog's soul to go to heaven & to be brought back to me in the shape of holly, my 4yr. old lab mix rescue dog. she's black & was born 2 days after my dog died at 15yrs. my last dog, elvira was black too. i found her when she was about 4weeks old.

Yes, I believe all God's creatures have souls. I lost my beloved Bo, my 13 yr old cocker spaniel in 2005 to congestive heart and tumors and through all the pain and suffering he endured he was the most loving and sweetest little guy I have ever loved. I had him cremated so that when it comes my time to go we will be reunited at that Rainbow Bridge and go to our second life together. I do not care what anyone else says and our preacher has said no they do not have souls, They Do Have Souls.

My Church, I believe, does not believe that animals have souls. I do not believe that. God has compassion for all living beings He created. I cannot believe otherwise.

My Peridot crossed over last July 6th...so the day is coming soon. :(

She came home from the vet to say goodbye to her friends, my 2 other birds. Then she slowly went downhill. We rushed her back to the vet, but she passed away. Ony about 15 minutes before the vet tech arrived for work, she said.

Peridot did not want anyone to see her go through her passing. I believe she timed it all on purpose.

She also came back to tell me she was ok. I felt a rush like nothing I have ever felt go through me. That was Peridot I know, because I was going back to the vet the day after, for the first time since she had passed. On the way over there, I felt her again. Her presence was so strong. I looked over at the passenger seat, right when I got to the highway exit. Sure that she was right there in her travel cage. Of course she was not. But her spirit was in the car for a brief second I believe.

I agree with Tamtam1622, if you recognize that animals have souls (which I hope they do) you have to agree that ALL animals have souls, even animals we eat as food. Not saying everyone should be a vegetarian, but it should make people (especially here in this forum) think and work harder to ensure that the animals that are eaten and used for clothing (I am talking leather NOT fur) are treated with dignity and respect.

Get this, I had a father in law now ex-father in law, anyhow. He was a Baptist preacher. He knew I was a big dog fan.
In short form, he said no where in the bible does it say dogs or any animals have souls.
I didn't have anything to say.
I still think they do. They have many emotions and they seem to understand much more than we think. And when a mate or playmate dies that they love they mourn. I seen a mare horse mourn for weeks over her foal that died. She became so depressed she would stand with her nose touching the ground. She would not eat or drink. I thought she was going to die. She lived and got over it. But, I'm sure did not forget. I feel they have souls and don't care what any pastor says!

When my Dad was in the hospital (before he was on heavy medication and a few days before he pased away). My friend and I were visiting and all of a sudden he said "Well it's about time you came old girl" he then said "Yes Scottie I'll see you in a few days" while saying this he was petting her. He then looked at me and said "They've all come for a visit now." Because of this I have no doubt. And what a gift that was given to me that day!!! We will have all our loved ones with us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I believe animals have souls. Our Pekingese, had severe back problems and went paralazed, we had to put her to sleep, up to the last minute she tried to be her cheerful self even tho she was in so much pain. Maggie was our sweet baby. Right before she got so bad off, we got a rescue pup that was being mistreated by his family. London has picked up so many of Maggies ways, it's like she is telling him how to act. :-)

I believe they do. Dogs, and other animals, know the love that the bible teaches. They don't know the hate and judgement some religious people do. They don't share our human flaws. Of course they don't know religion as we do.; an animal wouldn't have a way to know about the teachings of Jesus, or any of the prophets. Those are human understandings.

YES!!! animals have souls. Sometimes I think better than human ones. They love uncondictionally. If you have pets than you know that each animal has their own personality. You can see the emotion in their eyes and behavior. They get scared,they get happy,and they get sad...

No one can convince me that they don't. When I was in the hospital our boston terrier, Trixie, lay and watched the door all night waiting for me to come home. My husband and I never went anywhere (other than the hospital) if Trixie was not welcome also. Trixie died the day the rescue squad took my husband to the hospital. He died 18 days later. I will see them both again in heaven when it is my time to go.

dogs and other pets go to heaven. His reply" Yes, and there are no fences there.

I do believe that ALL animals have souls, from cows to dogs, they all do! I respect them all and hold equal value to their lives, this is the number one reason I am veg. To say that animals have rights and only apply them to dogs is being a hypocrite, all animals ("pet" or not) are equal and they all have a heart and a soul. They all feel pain and happiness as we do, so why are they treated any lesser than human beings. My dogs are my world, they each have their own defining personality; this would not be possible if they had no soul. I cannot imagine that there would not be an afterlife for them, that would just be wrong and unfair!!!

YES, animals do have souls. If you look into a animals eyes, you can see everything that they expierence. Just like a human...... LOVE, HATE,HURT,WORRY,STRESS,HUMOR,CARE,ENJOYMENT..etc. I just lost my basset hound Gomer about 2 weeks ago, and I believe with my whole heart, that my baby, my Gomer is with me everyday, everynight, every minute. Watching over momma's head.

Most definately. Tag'o passed to the bridge young. I know he had a soul, as his prescense often visited me. I believe he became a guardien angel for other cats. His prescense sent me to the aid of several other cats.

I think the definition of soul probably varies a bit depending on who you talk to. In my opinion Christian leadership in general has done little to promote animals as worthy of any more than a prayer of thanks for the meat on the table. There are other world faiths that revere animal life as every bit as worthy as any human beings life. Ghandi said "The greatness of a nation can be judged on it's treatment of animals. In the bible where it says "The meek shall inherit the earth", I don't think they were talking about human beings. Humans as a genera have been anything but meek.
I'm personally not sure about an afterlife or not. If there is one, I hope the animals are there. There is no animal on earth worth less to me than any human. In fact, they're worth more in light of all the damage humans have done to our planet. An animal's objective is to live within the laws of nature not change them. For that they are smarter than us. They are emotional, intelligent, communicative creatures that share over 99% of our DNA. It's essentially the same components only they're arranged a bit differently. If we go to heaven, then they should too!

Kindlemomma,your comments sound like me. My sweet kitty Tiger was only six when he went over the Rainbow Bridge and II too felt his presence in his spot on the bed many times. Missing him led me to adopt 5 more cats since. And as TamTam said ,please don't just say especially dogs because those of us who have cats and other animals do believe all animals have souls. I also believe all the precious animals that have been abused and those who have never had a home and have gone on were welcomed in heaven with all the love, hugs and kisses they were denied here on earth! I truly pray for that.

I had to put my beloved 14 1/2 year old Zambia "down" at a local animal shelter , one of the hardest things I ever had to do. A year later, I returned to the same animal shelter and found my Kenya, who I feel is Zambia reincarnated. My friends agree with me. Along w/looks, his behavior and his protectiveness toward me has assured me that I found the soul of my Zambia.

They certainly do. My son, Richie passed away when he was 20. Each time I have lost a pet, hear of a pet passing or see the poor little creatures that have been hit on the road, I say a prayer and tell Richie that a new comer is going to be coming up to Heaven for him to welcome and take care.

First, you have to define what a "soul" is. Soul is strictly a human concept. Some clerics and others say possession of a soul is what sets us apart from non-human animals. If we concede that we are somehow different from non-human animals, then is it the soul that sets us apart? If you agree that "PETS" have souls, does that mean that an animal has to be "owned" or "possessed" by a human in order to have a soul? That is, we don't allow farm animals, laboratory animals or any animal we want to use in a non-benign way to have a soul. So, who makes the distinction? Does God, if you believe in God? Or is it humans who have placed other living creatures into categories? Therefore, I must conclude that if humans have souls, that ALL animals must have souls. And if they all have souls, then we must give them the same consideration that we give other humans. The only alternative is that not only do animals not have souls, neither do humans.

I know for a fact that animals have souls! About 4 years ago, my german shepard had to be put to sleep because she was old and suffering. I loved her so much that I opted to have a vet come to my home and put her to sleep so she would be in the comfort of her home and my arms. That evening I heard my shepard, Kaley, bark to go outside. As I have done for the past 13 years, I got up and walked towards the door until I remembered that she was gone. It happened again the next morning . When my husband got home from work I told him about my experiences and he brushed it off as me being upset and missing her. That evening my husband came into my office with a blank look on his face. I asked him what was wrong? He said he just heard Kaley bark like she did when she wants to go outside! Now, my husband who was a skeptical says there is no denying what he heard and now he believes that animals go to heaven too!!

If one would put all of their human centered biases aside, really look into the light of truth; then genuine logic would clearly show that...If all in existence was created from the mere thought of a Supreme Creator; then all would be loved, totally & equally by that same original creative source. If this is so; then all, from the worm to the human, & from the moss to the tree would, most indeed, be imbued with this original spiritual spark of a living soul. If this is so; then at some predestined "end time", this Supreme Creator will have back all of the good that was ever created into existence...back onto His perfect Earth (Eden), which is set in the firmament of His Heaven (Paradise), & cleansed of all our past sins & disobedience...Which would have been the original cause of our great fall from His grace from & casting out of the good Earth (Eden). Anyway, just my thoughts on this issue....

I believe they do. They offer us unconditional love. They are happy when we are happy and grieve with us when we are sad. They are a wonderful gift that has been given to us. I know that I was so heartbroken when I lost Zach it was difficult for me to get through each day. On the third night I woke up and felt his warm body against my back where he always slept. It was as if to say I'm okay and will be waiting for you. I'm no longer in pain. This was not a dream - he was there - and I surely hope to see all of my dogs meet me when I pass on.

I believe that dogs have souls, that they are a very special creature that God has created for us mere mortals to live amongst. I believe that only they know the true meaning of love, the unconditional kind. They do not set out to hurt us intentionally as people do, they try so hard to not hurt us when it is their time to go. I have had several dogs through my lifetime, each very special and unique in his or her own way, each a different personality, each my soulmate, brought in to my life for special reasons at special times, there when I needed them to be there the most. They fulfill what people can't, they fill the empty voids that people can't, and I mean family and friends. THEY ARE MY SOULMATES HERE ON EARTH AND I WILL SEE EACH AND EVERYONE OF THEM AGAIN WHEN WE MEET AT THE RAINBOW BRIDGE. Do dogs have a soul? JUST LOOK IN TO THEIR EYES....

I believe that all animals have souls, observe the wolves that mate and live together as a family, lot for people to learn from them, the beauty of a horse grazing or just running in an open field, a deer in the woods happily playing with a doe, or just observing the world around them. Animals are God's masterpiece, the gentle creatures, the souls who don't ask much of us, and always want to please us.

All animals have souls. God made them too. I read a story a while ago about a little girl talking to her Mom and her Mom pushed this idea aside but the little girl said; I will meet my horse in Heaven. Doesn't it talk about the horses coming out of the Heavens in the Bible? Her Mom didn't know how to answer her. It does.
Anyone who says animals can't feel, think, have souls, know how to twist you around their paw or wing; never had one.
My macho boss never had one but his family insisted on getting a puppy this year. We hear everything she does and his voice goes softer when he tells us. We are an office of pet lovers and now he has joined the group. He also knows that several of us would take her if he was going to get rid of her which now he never will.

yes, i believe all living things have a soul, especially animals. they have emotions and a heart , they get angry and sad like we do, sense fear and danger, love unconditionally and have the power to heal us when we need them. how can they not have a soul. i believe animals have their own heaven and will meet us at the rainbow bridge, when our time is up. what a wonderful time to look forward to.

Yes, I have had no doubt about this since the one time I had to euthanize my beloved pet cat because of an incurable painful illness. She was best cat ever and I was with her, sobbing to the end. My spirit knew the instant her spirit left her body. Perhaps others have had same or similar experiences.

Everything that is is a manifestation of the Divine. Being manifestations of the Divine, everything has a soul (or perhaps it's all one soul for everything). We are given the privilege of sharing our lives with some of the everything that is the Divine manifestation, and some parts of that are very special to us. We call them pets, or furbabies, or companions - the names don't matter. They give us the very special gift of seeing what life could be like if we could all live up to our Divine origins. So, yes, "pets" have souls, and as such also possess the ability to have life-without-body as spiritual entities. As far as the whole question of heaven - I don't know. It's not part of my religious understanding. But I do believe in the survival after death of the energy-entity (or soul) and that we go to a somewhere to continue our existence.

It is impossible to believe that in the perfect paradise of God's kingdom, in the presence of and unity with our Creator, we will still be sad and grieving because our beloved furry 4-paw companions are not there with us. As a fundamentalist Christian, I have researched this quite a bit and have come to the inescapable conclusion that our woofies (and other pets) will enjoy eternity with us!

I have no intention here of preaching or "getting in your face" with the usual stereotyped "fire and brimstone" talk. That is not what it is about. Christianity is a lit candle in a dark room; see the light and come foreward. No force or coersion. We all have a choice.

There are many references to animals being in Heaven in the Bible. God would not have created such a wonderful creature as the dog to put on earth and then take it away from us in eternity. We will meet all the animals we have loved in our lifetime when we enter our eternal home. It would not be heaven without them!

I KNOW they have souls. I am a professional animal communicator and I talk to the ones that have passed from this life into their next. They are in love and bliss. They are so wise on the other side. I believe they are our greatest teachers here on Earth, if we will only listen to them. Their hearts are pure and they are so honest. I've had "visits" and talks from my two dogs that have passed and so has my husband. There is no denying that their spirit lives on without their body. It's comforting to know that they are still with us in spirit.

of course all animals have a soul. alll animals go to heaven unlike some humans who go to hell. they go to hell because they were disobeying or did not belive in him. but animals are completely inicient and never do anything bad.and maybe even sometimes animals have more of a soul then most humans.

I say ALL pets have souls. When I had to put my cat Annie to sleep almost 2 years ago, I think her soul is still around especially watching over me and my new cat. When I told someone that I thought animals went to heaven, they were mortified. Animals are alot sweeter than some humans.

I agree with everyone, i too believe that every living thing has a soul, and it hurts me immensly when you see animals being abused or killed for no reason. Those people that do that are the ones that should be questioned on who has a soul and who doesn't, because as far as i am concerned there the ones that don't.

Every animal has it's own personality, just like humans. So if you didn't have a soul how could you have a personality? Everything they/we do is basted on "gut" feelings as to how we'll react in situation. So what is a "gut feeling"? Something has to be dictating that right?
I have a yr 1/2 old rescued A.P.B.T. She was tied up in a garbage bag & thrown out of a moving car at 6 mons. old. under wt. & scars on her front legs where she obvioulsy was beaten. Same dog you'd think would be mean do to what she went through. One of the sweetest babies I've ever owned. My point is if I fall asleep while we're watchin' TV, Des doesn't claw at me to wake me. She sticks her nose under mine to make sure I'm still breathing. (Still wakes me, nothing like a cold dog nose! LOL) How would she know to do that? I didn't teach her. She's going with her "gut feeling". So me personally, I feel all our souls, animal/human dictate our personalities. Some animals/people are just born mean. Has to be an inner force.(soul) & yes supposedly you can train people/animals into what you want'em to do. Ultimataly is the soul that drives us

Yes, most definitely. All animals have souls. "The eyes are the windows' and all you have to do is look into the eyes of any animal. Just because they don't have two legs and speak our language doesn't mean anything. In fact when you compare animals to humans, it's some humans that leave you wondering. Or in some cases they leave no doubt that they have no souls.

They deffently do. I grew up having animals so unfourtally had to deal wth deaths of my children. And they where always much lighter after passing. Animals are beatiful creatures that GOD created so why woulden't he give a soul to them?

Looks like the only person I agree with is Goodogcarl. It's such a nice idea to have a soul and an afterlife, but I really think it's nothing more than wishful thinking. A highly respected theologian (a scholar, not a preacher) had rejected the Greek idea of dualism - our being two things, a body and a soul - in favor of the more original Jewish idea that we are living flesh. It took me a while to get used to that idea, but it eventually made sense. Once my flesh no longer has life, I will no longer exist. (Heck, one really good brain injury will also accomplish that.) I know most people get comfort from the idea that we live on, but I can't think that way anymore. Of course we have thoughts and emotions, can be incredibly kind or unspeakably cruel, but that's all part of being a human animal. Many other animals are just as capable of thoughts, emotions and good or bad actions, but they don't need a soul for those things - just a brain. They say humans are the only animals that can contemplate their own deaths - but I seriously doubt that. Most humans deny death by seeing it as just a change of address. I've found that life is more dear to me (mine, other humans' and certainly the other animals of this world) now that I understand that this is all there is.

I lost my daughter and unborn grandson last yr on july 28th she had 3 dogs two cats and mice. she was killed by a speeding driver. I had a dog and two cats the dog was 13yrs old the cats 8 and 5 exacatly 25 days apart of my daughters death they died. Maybe to be with her. but I know her animals morned her. The dog we had when she was a child she leaned on abbie as if she was her best friend.we believe they are together. I think all gods creations are one day with him. Why do we eat cow pigs ducks lamb etc. In some sense they are the food chain. They may have souls too. how do we really know. I think all do. But as it is written there is a better place then here. So I figure my daughter and grandson has animals all around them in a beatiful place and some day i can't wait to see them again.

Justahumanape can i ask why you think this i feel my daughters presents and i have a lot of valadations of my visions and feelings. even the way she was in her car after she was murder by another driver. sometimes i do wonder is this just the end is her body just laying under ground and thats all the there is. I am not judging you just interested I have asked these questions a lot. i have lived and had a lot of pets who have died from old age. like my pet rabbit or ducks get killed by other animals etc. maybe it is just our brians telling us this. I also took care of a man with cancer when he died i took his cat it stayed behind the couch for two weeks wouldn't eat etc. finally it came out and warmed up to me she did know me from visiting him she came out of the state she was in and was a great cat yrs later she died also. did she join him i don't know. but thinking she did sure helps the pain of something dying. i respect your opion and have thought about that. because why my daughter she never hurt anyone. wrong place wrong time i will continue to believe her pets are with her.

Jodie - I'm so sorry for the loss of your daughter and grandson. You have certainly experienced the sting of death. If it helps you to think they live on, and that the animals are with them, keep on believing it. What difference does it make? None of us can ever know for sure (although I do think my position makes more sense). So if it helps you to deal with your grief to think that, go ahead. Reality will eventually prevail (either there will be something living on after our bodies die, or there won't) regardless of what we believe - but until then, we all have to do what we think is right. While I don't believe I have a soul, my heart certainly goes out to you.

My first dog died almost 2 years ago and I know her soul is in heaven. It's her birthday today. She would've been 13 today. I can still feel her presence in my house. Her soul will welcome me when I get up there.

Sure, of course they do. A lot of people are taken with pets more then with other people because pets give unconditional love where many people judge other people. Pets have to have souls to love people the way they are. Pets are natrualy given the ability to love anyone and everyone therefore they have souls that they leave behind to enrich the human soul.

Sure, all creatures have souls. They are living beings and so are we. Pets a lot of times make better companions to people then people do to each other. Pets have and give unconditional love where a lot of people cannot accomplish that.
That is why people keep their pets close to them and give their unconditional love back to their pet. When a pet dies their souls do not die but remain in those people that they love therefore the people's lives will be richer in life by the fulfillment of their beloved pets soul. Truth is in the heart of the believer.

I think it was Mark Twain who said something like, "You think there won't be dogs in heaven? I daresay, they'll be there long before any of us!" And I cannot imagine a heaven without them. They give me heaven here on earth as well.

Most definitely dogs have souls! I have often visualized that when I get to heaven, my furry friends will be there waiting on me and oh, so happy to see me, just as they were on earth! But the best part of my vision is that just maybe they will finally be able to tell us their story!!! How awsome would it be to actually "hear" all they have to tell us that they could never "say" while with us on earth?!! Granted, they communicate with us in many ways, but how many times have you said to yourself, if only they could TELL me what's going on, or tell me how it is they feel, or tell me how something happened to them when we don't know their story? I have several rescued dogs and I often look into their little faces and eyes and think to myself, if only you could tell me what all has happened in your life. Then I think, you will some day. I mean, besides, would heaven really be heaven if our animals weren't there? Come on!!

Absolutely they have souls. If to love with such depth of heart, unconditionally, isn't an indication of a soul, then we humans could not have one because most of us cannot love as fiercely and deeply as a dog can love.

I believe they do, I had a Samoyed a while back and our vet came to our house to put him down due to cancer. While I was holding him and looking into his eyes you could just see and feel his soul leaving him as the doctor gave him the injection. Call me weird but it was the most surreal thing that has ever happened to me. I will never forget that feaeing.
