I've discovered one of the dogs has a tendency to be a pack rat.  Uh, huh, even a dog can hoard things.

This dog, who shall remain nameless, to protect the devious, is an English Springer Spaniel.  She has a sweet little face and one would not expect this behavior from such a cutie.

Every day when I leave for work I fix the dogs a bone.  The bone being an old bone originally from a raw meaty bone.  I stuff the hollow part with peanut butter and some dog treats.  Every dog has his bone and it makes them a happy camper.  Usually Maddie (ooops, guess we know which dog who is guilty) is waiting for me in her crate by the time I head downstairs with her bone.

I was aware she had a few in her crate from other days.  And I also knew the supply of bones seemed rather limited of late.  So today I stooped to her level and peered inside her crate.  I started pulling bones out, left and right.  There were enough bones to build a small cow.  It seems our little princess was stock piling bones like a reserve of something priceless, like, a... gasoline.

I counted 15 bones in all.  I'm surprised she could fit in the crate with her stash.  I don't think she chews on them once the goodie is gone.  She just doesn't want anyone else to have them either.

Isn't that just like a woman.  And I mean that in the nicest possible way.

Re: Bonezilla

I too have noticed that my pug,Zeke, treats his daily greenie as buried treasure, he makes the funniest noises as he searches the house for just the right place to put his stash. Then love his heart, he forgets where he put it and then runs around like a crazy man to find it. Lucky for him, mommy has eyes in the back of her head.

Re: Bonezilla

OMG Prada (my chi) will prance around and do this squeaky whiny noise looking for a good spot. Sometimes she'll come right behind me close to my butt and the couch cushion, but many times I'll point her toward a sort of ruffled up blanket and this does the trick. They are so funny with their treats!!
